  • i think im getting cancer by watching this

  • did anyone ever complete this without cheating????

  • Fiddler on the Roof!

  • Cool :-)

  • I was a kid, seemed like jolly good fun to me but never completed it!

  • I seem to remember the music being better than this.

  • I poked and peeked and generally messed about with this game for probably about year. 'Your Spectrum' published a number of good pokes and I worked out a few myself including 'get around the annoying coloured card' - I'm proud to say I figured that out directly from reading Z80 code in decimal (before I knew hex or had a disassembler). I can still remember some pokes after what is it, 27 years?

  • i used to hate trying to jump on the ropes

  • moonlight sonata?!?

  • i loved this game as a kid

  • and it has is if i were a rich man :)

  • Love the opening music to this. Gonna use it as my ringtone.

    Magnificent game & great memories

  • @The69ersFC If you want to annoy people on the bus use the manic miner tune as a ringtone. Got to be better than chipmunks!

  • @The69ersFC It's sonata no 14

  • This was an awesome game... a blueprint for so many other games. Without this we would be stuck in the gaming darkages of Monopoly or Buckaroo. All hail Matthew Smith! ^^

  • face it C64 were like PC;'s spectrums were the macs of their day!

  • very bad playing

  • One of the true classics in gaming history. Proper old school! As mentioned in other comments, impossible to complete, but fun trying. It's also famous for Matthew Smith who went missing not long after -- google him!

  • jet set willy lived in a big house

  • well sniff my shitter,, i used to love this game great to see it again..

  • Did the music really sound like that on the Spetrum? Sounds awful compared to the C64 version.

  • I've never heard of the Spetrum. The C64 was a pile of shite without the music. Just buy a Hi-Fi system if you want to listen to music. Shite tiny graphics!

  • @SPINNYFUCK Yes, but Spectrum used to be good in 1980s when I was a kid.

  • @craneywatch The speccy will always be brilliant. The 80's were the best years. Hard times but the posh kids provided us with the pirate tapes. Time to give it back through taxes, lol!

  • @MartinBrentnall yes it did

  • if you go on facebook and go to applications and type zx spectrum you can play all the games in all there glory.

  • is it possible to complete. there was a comp when it came out for first person to complete this game would win a trip to usa or something.

  • Impossible to complete without pokes. The game is full of bugs. Matthew Smith was pressured into rushing this follow-up to Manic Miner. A more complex game which wasn't given enough play testing.

  • @SPINNYFUCK zomg POKES! I totally remember doing pages of them, making ONE little mistake and losing the entire code string - drove me crazy (but not crazy enough to stop coding the pokes LOL) Memories - ahh thank you Spiny!

  • @BritGirlJay It's not wortrh poking to be honest. Yeah, coding was a bugger. Glad you enjoyed my pathetic attempt at the game.

  • We used to spend hours playing this & listening to the sounds of the day, Madness, etc - Brilliant times

  • This Game is very Special! Love is not enough for a word to dscribe this awesome game.

  • Where can I download it!!!

    thanks a lot, from Chile!!

    DES

  • Download it at worldofspectrum dot org.

  • Cool. Ill go check that out thou i dont know if ill put the results up as who wants to see me falling on my ass every 10 seconds (i aint good at gmaes) ! I'll def check that speccy spoilers site out to sounds great. Yeah i thought the ending would be rubbish! Thanks again

  • Sorry bout that!Had a slow day at work and the 1st thing i see on youtube when i get in is jet set willy in all its glory so it made my day. I have no idea how the game ends at all. If anyone knows could they tell me please. Just out of interest where do you get your games from? Are they originals or downloads because theres some awesome titles you've put on. I was a heavy spectrum user back in the day (and after) until my powerpoint cable broke and its not worked ever since. A sad day.

  • Just joking mate! You can play over 12000 games at worldofspectrum. Download Spectaculator first and install it. Then you can re-live the good times. Make sure you put up some of your videos of speccy gameplay as well. To see the end of JetSet Willy go to Speccyspoilers. The ending is crap by the way. Some of the games I've put up won't be found on worldofspectrum. I have a cd with 3000 speccy games which I use if I can't get the game from the internet.

  • oh my god ive never said this to another man but i love you! That is awesome. The old memories are flooding back now. Thanks so much for that. Ive watched it twice already since you put it up! Cheers champ

  • Steady on old chap...lol! The awesome bit is fine, just not sure about the loving me bit. Glad you enjoyed it mate. It's a very difficult game. ;)

  • You need some practice on them ropes! You'll get into the swing of it.

Wasn't there a Jet Set Fawlty?

  • I will leave the rope tricks to Tarzan. This game is well tough. I think you'll find it was Jet Lord Fawlty...it's over there on the runway, Sir!
