When tasered, your muscles are able to function afterwards, albeit a little weaker. This can be counteracted by adrenaline, which enables people to resist 4 or 5 coppers trying to restrain him.

Both officers are authorised firearms officers for Nottinghamshire Police. One of the police officers twice deployed his taser to attempt to incapacitate the man, but with little effect.
and a violent struggle ensued. During the struggle an officer received a puncture wound and swelling to the top of the inside of his leg – hospital staff later diagnosed these injuries as a human bite mark. The same officer also suffered a cut and swollen cheek bone from an alleged punch to the face.
The officers spoke to him for several minutes during which he refused to leave the area, and was verbally aggressive towards the two constables. He asked for their names and collar numbers, and an officer provided a pen and paper so they could be written down. Eventually, when walking away, the man apparently made an offensive gesture – a two-fingered V sign – to the police officers. The two police officers went to arrest the man for being drunk and disorderly.
Soon after midnight, on the morning of Monday 15 June 2009, a man was ejected from Foxy’s nightclub in the centre of Nottingham. He was reportedly drunk and causing a disturbance. He remonstrated with door staff at the club entrance and at about 12.25 am two police officers arrived to assist with his removal.

There's no such thing as an "illegal" move, any application of force from just being there up to shooting someone has to be justified by the officer, potentially in a court of law.
A taser should be used only when there is no other way of subduing someone. Seemed to me the police pulled the taser as a first, rather than last, resort.

We know more, now, due to numerous studies (and the Brown report, amongst others). As for this, the guy is clearly resisting, and if he stabbed someone (and might still have the weapon on him)... Well, the police have to treat the allegation seriously to effect an arrest.

The male was resisting and the taser is used as a method to safely restrain a suspect who may be violent or carrying a weapon. The punches were to the shoulder and are distraction strikes. Offender feels the strike and turns attention to that and is then restrained. It's not nearly as harsh as it looks. All approved techniques and above board.

We cant see how he was reacting before he got arrested. If he was acting in a violent manner towards the police and they assume he has a knife, their actions are justified. The 3 punches was a bit much. They are firearm officers, they should be able to cuff him after hes been shocked!

Next time someone breaks into your car, call the police for help. When they say "Sorry this is not a priority call" that's because it takes half the force to arrest one struggling drunk because we worry about their 'rights'. These people deserve a beating. Ye one office on his own without tazer could have restrained him, but the guy would have put up more of a fight and therefore the officer would have used a lot more force to restrain, causing injuries to the suspect.

We have had police turn that refuse to restrain until there are 4 of them. Our policy states we only need 2 people and we are sent on courses so the council doesnt get sued. We cant see how he was reacting before he got arrested. If he was acting in a violent manner towards the police and they assume he has a knife, their actions are justified. The 3 punches was a bit much. They are firearm officers, they should be able to cuff him after hes been shocked!

The Police Officer in the blue punches the man's arm to give him a dead arm. The second taser I guess could have been avoided, but it's up to the Police Officers to use as much force as they want, at the end of the day all they have to say is they have a family.

Next time someone breaks into your car, call the police for help. When they say "Sorry this is not a priority call" that's because it takes half the force to arrest one struggling drunk because we worry about their 'rights'. These people deserve a beating. They should invite the public to open days, put them in pairs and challenge them to cuff a struggling bloke using only kneeling and arm grabbing tactics, maybe then they may realise that a bit of so called "brutality" is sometimes necessary.

This guy was suspected of a serious crime, GBH, and he's obviously resisting arrest. I don't mind the use of some force in those cases. But then, these 2 cops basically already had him under control, and with the 2 extra cops arriving there was at least no need to taser him a second time, and that beating made no sense at all.

When tazer, or cs incapacitant is used the officer using it has to let other officers and members of public aware for their own safety
Ye one office on his own without tazer could have restrained him, but the guy would have put up more of a fight and therefore the officer would have used a lot more force to restrain, causing injuries to the suspect.

I work in social services and work with people with disablitlites and we don NOT use tazers. cops are chickenshits for using them under these circumstances. I know 60 + yr old women who are employed by councils that have to face more violence than the average cop.. AND WE DONT USE TASERS

@gotgank On occasion yes we do, imagine (cos i cant give u details) someone with the same strength but with mental health - thats what we deal with daily. We have had police turn that refuse to restrain until there are 4 of them. Our policy states we only need 2 people and we are sent on courses so the council doesnt get sued. So yea I think some of the police get paid more for doing less than what we do.
