WTF? he had me going there for the moment there he just broke the aseptic technic from the start, then hammered the epidural nail and draining CSF to a cup. this video is hilarious!!! XD!
Always impressed me with these images, suffering, pain ... So how is the pain that examination? And then? is to walk, sit, back to normal life after having suffered such a procedure?
this is obviously a piss take but it isn't so funny watching it after a botched epidural that lead to a dural tap in 2 areas after the anastheasiologist has tried 8 times unsuccessfully during labour. I was paralysed for nine days after i gave birth to my son. I still get bad migraines to this day, when i didn't have so much as a small headache before this happened. Not all epidurals are bad though although they sometimes only numb the legs which happened in both my first and with my son.
i never knew they give epidural like that.. isnt there different ways of doing it.. like not jamming that thing into her back like its a wooden board! damm that scared me!
its not funny at all..if your like me and shittin yourself because you are expecting your first child, and going on youtube to see what your gonna go through then to see this video...it doesnt help my fears at al!
This was presented at the beginning of a lecture at a regional anesthetsia meeting I recently attended and there was howling laughter the entire time! Very well done!
Yeah, personally I like to scrap the lignocaine and just get straight in there with a drill bit, then when Ive made a nice tunnel through the vertebra, I stick the trochar in, give it a wiggle, then push in some catheter tubing sellotaped to the manometer.
I hope this was not real...I had an epidural with the birth of my first kid. My back has never been the same I know why now. Had the second kid natural due to the way my back felt after epidural. I can still feel the exact spot and my oldest is 26 years old.
ABSOLUTELY NOT!! This is a joke gf - it's a total joke! Stop watching these parodies meant for us professionals to get a laugh out of!! This wouldn't even be the norm for regional anaesthesia in a third world country!! It's okay girl - relax. :_)
I work on a L&D unit - we watched this one day, and our staff Anaesthetist was damn near on the floor laughing!! This is great - gotta love the pause to eat the cookie bit! Hope the patient wasn't in the middle of a contraction!!! LOL!!
OMG - when I saw someone replied to my comment here, the last person I expected was you!! WTF you doing watching this? I can't believe you bothered!!! LMFAO!!!!!! You Nut you!!! :_D
I delivered naturally. The thought of a needle in my back put me into a panic! I even wrote a "birthing contract" giving conditions of things like an episeotomy and all. Yeah I was a real control freak. The nurses just looked at me with raised brows. I have a doctor/hospital phobia can you tell? But to tell you the truth labor was so painful while Chris drove me to hospital I was thinking I want a hundred needleds shoved in my back to make it stop. But she was born w/in 15mins.
ha haaaa haaaaa.!! :)) cok yasayin lan geberdim gülmekten.allah razi olsun...bos sivisini ziyan ettiniz .. mina goyiim .sebeke suyumu lan bu .hali yikayin bari :)
Anesthesiologists are not more highly trained than CRNAs (no apostrophe as it is not possessive). CRNAs and MDAs have the same complication and safety rates. There is no existing evidence that proves one group is better or worse than the other.
I know this guy...His name is Lema. He is quite an Anesthesiologist..A true representative of his profession. he is currently the president of the A$A )American Association of Anesthesiologists. If you need a needle in your back for any reason what so ever... Make sure a Nurse Anesthetist(CRNA) is putting it there. Not an Anesthesiologist.
I thought the video was funny, but your comment was more than just an insider banter. Sounds like you're trying to do a disservice to the public by making such biased statements. Besides, are not anesthesiologists doctors who are more highly trained than crna's? You're really coming off as being unprofessional here.
This is hilarious. (And you'd have to be insane to think this was realisitc). Particularly like the ingenious use of coffee cup, perhaps all LP's should be sampled this way ...
that was discusting and horrific for anyone who hasn't been thru that sort of thing.. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY INCORRECT!!! Do NOT be freaked out by this!! That is NOT how it's done!!
The faculty of the Valley Anesthesia board review program showed this video during the course in front of 170+ SRNAs. I just couldn't help myself laughing hard. So did the woman came back for blood patch?

It's not supposed to be painful at all. And many women get back pain after childbirth - even without having an epidural.

actually the guy who posted this is the creator and he is an anesthesiologist in Australia
this was a parody not a true representation of a normal epidural and if you want an epidural get one from a anesthesiologist
