  • Incredible... Now I have to rent this again...

    :o)

Superior. Lo llamamos Amor.

  • An exquisite ending to one of the most beautiful and romantic films ever made.

  • Carlos,

Muito obrigado pelo convide. Pois e um dia vou passar no Brazil. Ja conheci otras pessoas do Minas.

    Um abraco,

    John

  • That final freeze frame in which the background disappears on the final note leaving the two characters isolated and alone against the stark white background always struck me as a brilliant way to end the film. The lovers, alone, must find their own destiny.

  • @Zeppolino100 Your comment a year ago was timeless... I saw this clip and thought the same thing!

  • I love this movie.

  • SEXIEST MOVIE EVER!!!

  • Catgirl,

Jung was the one who came up with the idea of synchronicity. He and physicist Wolfgang Pauli worked on a book by that name. Here, I've had two synchronous events: 1) I went out with a girl; I asked why she was called Anouk; she asked me if I'd heard of Anouk Aimee; then Anouk told me how her father - who'd worked in cinema in Paris, was a very good friend of Anouk Aimee; hence his daughter's name. As well, I got to meet Pierre Barroush. And I learned Portuguese after the film. John

  • Catgirl,

Carl Jung believed that young men had a tremendous, mystical experience of the the "eternal feminine". This leads them on to quests throughout their lives. Mine was this film. A couple of months after I saw the film, I went to Paris, to the Gare St. Lazare where this last scene of the film was filmed. I always wanted to be the racing car driver (Tritignant) and the stunt man Barrough. I've always - in some way, wanted to meet Aimee st tSt. Lazare.

    John

    carlos gomes---Brasil

  • Jungian analysts speak of a "Grail" experience - an experience of the Eternal Feminine affecting a man all his life. Mine was on the quai shown here. I wanted to be the courageous Tritignant and the Pierre Barrouh so passionate with people, ideas, places - and Brazil.

    John

  • @johncoghlan69 I think at some point in our lives, we all feel this way. The lucky ones never lose that desire, even if they never quite achieve the objective. Cheers, John.
