I don't know what's in sex ed these days, but I fear the worst. All the sex ed I got in school was in biology class, and it was all about procreation, except for that short-haired liberal woman talking about the joys of orgasm one time. Sex today is so casual and colored by pornography. I'm afraid information about sex at an early age may damage a naturally curious mind. I'm not even going to let my children use Internet until they're teenagers, hence why homeschooling is the only safe choice.

@joroma77 the only problem i have with homeschooling is: they unprepared for the real world and the evils you encounter on a daily basis. they are too trusting because they havent seen the bad kids at school. because the real world is cold cruel at times and you must be street smart or the streets will eat you alive. the same with private catholic schools. they get taken advantage of when they get into public schools. i have seen this time and time again. damned if you do and damned if you dont.

I do not mind if children know about the word penis, or breats/boobs. I mind if they know what sex is, and what else goes on with that topic. Yes, most would laugh, but I would prefer to preserve innocence as long as possible.
And I know that knowing where and where not to be touched is not part of sex ed. I just believe that that is all that kindergardeners need to know.
And FYI when a child DOES scream, I do check it out. I never pass it off as simply "nothing".

Parents cannot be fully justified at sex ed because parents may not have all the full facts on HIV, STDs, teen pregnancy and molestation causes. Teachers would be trained in this sort of thing.

I do believe that parents should tell their children about sex, and the beauty of it. School should come in when it comes to things like HIV or teen pregnancy, and while more teens get pregnant at a younger age, it is obvious that those school talks need to begin at a younger age.

Funny thing is there are 12, 13 and 14 year old girls out there... pregnant and they do not have a clue about what to do.
Sex education needs to be implemented at younger ages as to make them more aware of what "sex", love and marriage actually is.
Age appropriate means just that. You decide what materials should be taught to what grade levels. As a Father of a 2 1/2 year old boy and a 6 month old girl I think thats fine.
Most importantly parents can "opt out" of the entire thing.

No you are wrong. I'm sorry to be so blunt but the educational system doesn't have a right in the first place to make it mandatory to teach kids sex ed. That is up to the parents. I do NOT want my kids learning the morals of the public school system. I want them learning my morals. All sex ed in high school consists of is "be safe, use a condom". How about parents just get more involved with there own children?

The truth is there is no such thing as "age appropriate" when it comes to sex and small children. Government has no business teaching 5 year olds anything about sex, and Obama's attempt to pander to radical special interest agendas should be exposed for just what they are - radical. Sex education is a sensitive subject best left up to parents.

the movie he was "endorsing" for kindergarteners was about the right and wrong ways of being touched/touching. i'm for sex education at an age as young as 5 or 6 years old too, but what this video about wasn't about sex! it was about sex abuse! i would want my kid to know when someone is touching them in an innapropriate way and i would want them to tell someone right away! that's what the video was about and anyone who doesn't support it isn't supporting the safety of their child.

Finally, the media corrected it, he came years after the program. Obama lied about a gun control report. He said he never saw it and a staff worker handled it. The original report was found and not only had he signed it, he had written notes on it. Obama is hiding that he is for total gun control.
