For profit insurance companies waste 30 cents of every insurance dollar on dividends, bonuses, and advertising. Drug companies are out of control. People think they are covered until they get a serious condition and reach their "cap" limit on payout. Then they can go bankrupt and die. PROFIT$ have no place in our health care system. I wonder how many politicians on thie panel realize, or care, about what the Deficit Reduction Act did to elders in this country who need long-term care. Many of these elderly are Disabled WWII Vets who were not savvy enough to hide their money five years before they needed long-term care. Again, this has no effect on the wealthy or the poor...but the middle class elderly are paying from their modest nest eggs....and for the most part to non-profit nursing homes.......until they have "zero"..
