  • I would have enjoyed this video, but the person taping it was singing along with Marvin. I couldn't get pass that.

  • @tonicannon Yeah, I know; he messed it up..Marvin didn't need any help (lol)...

  • @tonicannon I ordered the original off of Amazon for my collection so I can hear just my Marvin (lol)

  • @tonicannon lol, ya know that was the back-up singer his mic was way to loud....lol,

  • @tonicannon I actually ordered the original tape of this concert and the person is singing along just like here. I suppose it's one of his backup singers.

  • Love Marvin Gaye soulful voice forever!!!

  • wahou!!!j'adorre!!

  • FABULOSO!!!

  • So much talent. So much charisma. So much professionalism. Sheer class!

  • six people arent gaye

  • Dope

  • what a loss of great talent.

  • who ever the 5 cake heads are tht dislike this they should check in at a mental hospital

  • marvin to this day is still the top point of a pyramid his beyond the status of a legend...

  • My God he was smooth. Too bad I was too young and immature to geniunely appreciate Marvin when he was alive. What a treasure his artistry and music is to this world.

  • muito bom esse som

  • @Delatuell muito bom

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • millions of hearts have been created because of this idea and aspect of love

  • Marvelous&Amazing!!! Everybody Happy?!

    He is a great musician!!!

    ニュウーソウルの帝王マービンの唄声に陶酔します。

    彼も天上の人‥偉大な才能に限って,何故に神様は早く招くのか?!

    upされた方に謝意を表します。

  • Look how he moves the mic around for different notes, singers do that yeah, but no one like this guy...the Michael Jordan of singers

  • Excellent point, Marvin had magnificent microphone technique.

  • @TheBassoProfondo Marvin said that he studied the microphone for years. He mastered it.

  • @estalling I've always been fascinated by that. He was so precise, so specific about it. Lionel Richie once talked about Marvin's mastery of the mic placement, and what he taught him about it. I'd love to know more. David Ritz has also touched on it.

  • The male artist today should be ashamed calling themselves Singers/artist~ Here's a question! HOW! many of the so called male singers today if they were around in the 60's would have been good enough to be signed by Motown? I'm going to answer the question for you! NONE!~ Marvin played Drums,Piano, He arranged songs, song writer, singer, producer, Artist! Great looking, He was the complete package. Today singers look like roaches, crickets and can barely sing and jump like monkeys, why? why?

  • @tedkay

The part (joke) about singers today looking like pests was EPIC; LOL, but true! But I strongly agree w/ you about the rest, for real. ;D

  • @tedkay here's one:

    /watch?v=ydc6JINSaQs

Although this particular song may have been TOO HOT for 60's (and even 70's) Motown, they would have snapped Rahi High up for his songwriting skills (watch?v=39hIQo5QS6I&feature=related). Berry Gordy probably would have had him write and produce for a few years. But his unique voice and good looks would have gotten him noticed as an artist like Marvin and Ashford and Simpson.

  • @tedkay preach it tedkay, that's the bottomline...

  • My all time favourite - never get tired of his music. my ideal male in every way possible except the drugs!.

  • Marvin Gaye the legend

  • I miss the smooth crooners that like to just two step and wrap your mind around the music-no dance routines, and and all the jumpin up and down with stage humpin....

  • Marvin Gaye

    Resting in Power!

  • Love the porn star looking backing horn players

  • @mrpicky510 LMAO...now I'll never get that image out of my mind when I look at this video...

  • GEEZ......Marvin was talented and reeked of sex appeal ,he looked a little stoned here ,but that's when he was at his best

  • His father shot him- and beat the rap!! Justice? I think not.

  • @rickw1100 He didn't beat the rap. He went to jail.

  • @RickToye Sorry buddy. Read Marvin's bio- dad got off for "self defense".

  • @RickToye He agreed to put out "Here My Dear"; he did not go to jail...Hater.

  • Thanks to you, I like this Marvin Gaye's video, he's powerful, completely in the fact that he's interprets so much in the groove that in the emotion, great!!

  • Marvin is the MAN...he's got the groove and the voice!

    AMAZING VOICE!

  • Notice the brass section everybody got a curly perm...but killing this song..the band is in the pocket...Just like sex and love making, in sync and in the pocket...

  • One of the greatest singers to grace a stage, I saw him several times, he never

disappointed!!! He will always be my favorite!

  • I have the good fortune to

    can dance with painful

  • The year I was born....damn this was real music...

  • @amaryllis3399 I was graduating from high school...so it was amazing experiencing Marvin..

  • I love you Marviiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnn

  • omg this my song this is the love i want and will have Marvin was so smooth and real he was way before his time and the band is on time I am soooooo in love with song

  • that sway is viscous. amazing.

  • that is NOT playback. he is singing LIVE

  • Outstanding, brilliant song. Thanks for posting.

  • Before I approach a pretty woman I ask myself "what would Marvin do?"

  • @treyspr You must be busy all day f*%king then.... lol

  • The most flawless singer I've ever heard. My mother whom I love is crazy trying to tell me Sam Cooke and Whitney sing better than Starvin' Marvin? Hell no, when you take the National Anthem and make it a love song, you're the best ever.

  • @TheLuscious the great soul singers loved sam cooke. their mt rushmore is sam cooke, then marvin. marvin evolved soul singing and left it there with his death. and far as the ladies, whitney is from heaven. unmatched pipes and just enough soul. no celine dion

  • How could anyone dislike this? This is true beauty and art....... Masterpiece

  • shit! 3 misclicks... my bad.

  • This is why I despise the "dislike" button. I think people have nothing better to do than go from video to video disliking them. Because how else can you explain how anyone can dislike such profoundly beautiful music such as this?

  • @JamieLCooper My parents come from a different country and grew up with the children listening to Marvin in the 70's. They never new what he was saying, however with fondness I remember mom & dad slow dancing to what I thought was OUR music. No, Marvin's music belongs to everyone, even my non-English speaking parents. Those that hold Marvin as a nothing, insignificant, and not worthy of earthly contribution; they live daily with hatred, unfulfilled & disdain for themselves!

  • nobody knows who is between the pope and god.

but i'm telling you, Marvin is somewhere in there.

    peace.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG ONE OF MY FAVS FROM THE MASTER HIMSELF!!!!!!! I LOVE U MARVIN WE TRULY MISS U!!

  • his mic technique is impresive, how he puts the mic away in certain adlibs, you dont see anybody caring about the sound output that much

  • No body sings better than Marvin, then or now.

  • that's live in Ostend, Belgium. my country...

  • Usher,Neyo, Mario, Chris Brown,Tyreese, Trey songz,John lengend, and the others so called male singers today need to take a look a see how it's to be done! He didn't only have the ladies love him ,The Brothers wanted to be him! He played several instruments, and!~ WELL!~His Voice!~ just Unmistakable infectious!~Soulful, Sensual,Sexy~He wrote and produced his Own Music!~and placed his stamp on others Song WRITERS sONGS~THAT'S What real talent can do! and Hit after Hit after HIT!~real Musicians!~

  • Proof that drugs aren't all bad. God bless you, Marvin.

  • Back when the MUSIC entertained. When You didn't need fireworks or big Dance routines and set props. All You needed was a VOICE and Stand on the stage and SING!! Nowadays because they CAN'T SING! THey Need All That other crap!

  • @bonefidefool well the fireworks and big dance routines are Mj-s fault he cahnged the game forever when it come sto live shows and videos. But the thing is he could actually sing while today artists get all the fireworks and dance forgeting music is the real force behind a concert

  • MARVIN'S HOT, THE BAND IS HOT ,THE BACK UP SINGERS...NOT IN THE SAME ZONE....BUT THEY ARE ENTERTAINING....THANKS FOR THE POST...

  • listen to that groove fuck this is musical genious

  • Dont play with something you should cherish for life~~Marvin was the man!!

  • unbelieveable talented

  • Is that Chris Brown on the Drums?

  • May God and the ancestors receive and accept you brodaman. You made the world (life) easier to navigate with your music.

  • marvin had a very good vocal technique. you can see how far he holds the mic when he sings... and his voice just flows....most singers(pop/r&b) tend to sing close to the mic as their voice is not powerful enough or perhaps due a lack of vocal techniques. but marvin has this down to a t!! the man could sing for real!!

  • We ARE Blessed to actually have this piece of footage. One has to bear in mind that during his Life time he cancelled more concerts than he actually performed.

He was more at home in the studio than performing live on stage. For further reading check Divided Soul by David Ritz who is said to have co -wrote Sexual Healing with Masta Gaye..

    Man IS a Genius...Blessed

  • Now THIS KIDS IS HOW YOU MAKE REAL MUSIC!!! THIS IS HOW YOU FEEL THE MELODY LOCKED IN THE SOUL OF THE MUSIC!!! IN CONCLUSION THIS IS REAL MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I could stare at this guy the whole day. So goodlooking. Is that creepy, since he's dead for 27 years?

  • @CrazyWorld65 No its not creepy! i love this man i listen to his music everyday!!! his songs are about passion you can feel it when he sings - because he sings with feeling!!

  • @mspless Thanx!

  • damn nice drop G'..,robert palmers version also kicks azz..

  • The only man to ever sip tea during a live concert.

  • My favorite song of all time by Marvin!!

  • One of the songs of love that can relate to anyone...GREAT never get old music!!!!!!

  • This I "ike!!!

  • detroit at its best!! it dont get better than this. forget about GM!

  • This is truly an example of real talent vs. today's performers who need specialized equipment to keep up. I'm not that old yet, but I certainly miss when talent was obvious.

  • I always knew this song would sound good LIVE! It always baffled me that the sing didn't appear on his LIVE albums in a complete capacity. They played the "theme" from this song on the LIVE AT THE LONDON PALLADIUM album, but it wasn't what I would call fully realized. This version, though, does capture some of the spirit of the original LP recording. The only thing missing is the prominence of the guitars because they were in EFFECT on the album.

  • Mr Gaye is the GREATEST hands down...kicking it live!!!

  • you ever notice how nowadays everybody sound good on the radio but sounds like shit in concert? not marvin gaye

  • @vtownhood Because is play back ? =)) But i agree anyway, it's a great artist Marvin Gaye for sure, no doubt ! =))

  • @newsfromthestars Play back? Marvin Gaye!?? Yeah right.... Stop posting so stupid comments, and have a look at his A capella performances please...

    Peace.

  • Talking about moving your soul...this man just has that ability!

  • why is the younger generation not even come close to the likes of this music ? such a shame - I am hoping some will step up some time soon :))

  • Marvin was one sexy singer but he was so much more than that. He was a singer that made you think and feel. My brother was a big Marvin Gaye fan and sort of introduced me to his music. I'll forever be grateful.

  • @miamac63utube the sexiest man for real, honestly can think if anyone even today that can touch him!! it's really ashame but so true! there are some great ones, but what Marvin pocessed wasnt forced, rushed, or fake! Natural talent, which cannot be touched or replaced ever! theres talk of a movie of him, but I honestly cannot think of anyone who i feel can represent him 100%.

  • 2:34 nice off beat clapping, jackass.........

  • The younger entertainers can sample all they want (not a bad thing), but Marvin was a musical genius. He was doing his thang during this live performance! Yeah, "I want you, and I want you to want me just like I want you".

  • thanx for posting - awesome awesome awesome

  • This hired band sucks. Where was this?

  • Aww this dude fucked up the whole video with his ad libe.. STFU..

  • @righteousnova No it didn't it is a great video.

  • @GenesisKnights ... Listen there is no need to address me directly.. I have an opinion period. Stay in your lane and post like everyone else. I clicked on to hear Marvin.. Not someone humming off key to Marvin.

  • @righteousnova I'm not the one whose pissed off while watching a Marvin Gaye video. ;)

  • @GenesisKnights .. No you just stalk user comments.. SMH.. Get a life.

  • How is replying to a youtube comment "stalking"?

This is a superb live video, you are just exaggerating about ad libs ruining it. Its faithful to the song and adds more affect to have those layers of voice to COMPLEMENT his singing.

  • @GenesisKnights cause you took time out to respond to me when no one else has. Raise up off my nuts.. I know it's a era of gayness out here but, I'm not the one. Go find someone else with your internet stalking alternative comments.

  • @righteousnova Im gonna have to agree with you that threw me off

  • Beauuuutiful spirit, when he sings, I can feel it deep within my soul...

    What a wonderful talent..

  • I love it!!!!

  • Marvin......untouchable yet felt by all he touches.....
