Very sorry about your German Shepard. My all time best dog ever (Rat Terrier) died a couple of months ago and I still have problems with the loss. We plan to get another Rattie in a couple of weeks. How does one get beyond the passing of a wonderful canine? I hope with our new one we/I can begin to heal.

I'm so sorry about your dog. I had my dog 14 yrs. he was my buddy. I was lost without him. God sent me this little runt kitten so small she fit in my hand. That was 8 yrs. ago. She is now about 12 pounds of fur and will not let anyone but me near her. I've been having a lot of medical problems and she will hardly let me out of her sight. When God closes one door he opens another.

may my words bring healing to you ...i too lost my dog fairly recently but they are always there, the never to far distant bark or the sound of there squeaky toy just one last time...i know its hard to say goodbye but remember we will see each other again as all dog's go to heaven and they will be waiting there for you with eyes so bright and tongue out just waiting to welcome you home :)

My little terrier grew up with a Ridgeback. 2 years later I had to have the Ridgie put down and my little Sadie looked everywhere for her friend for over a month. Whenever we went out she looked under all the bushes around all the houses close by and even in woods behind my house. It was so sad. Then we were adopted by a GSD and little Sadie had a real puppy to play with. Almost a year later both are fast friends and nobody or other animal gets close to Sadie without Layla in between. Great video -- Anubis is a hilarious ball of fire! And it made me incredibly happy and sad to see Schultze playing with the hose -- the "Water Game" was one of my GSD, Billie's favorite games, and made it so easy to give her a bath!!! I used to get her running in a circle around me, chasing and snapping at the water. She was with me for nearly 16 (!) years, and I still miss her terribly. I'm sorry for your loss of Schultze, and hope that Anubis gives you comfort and cracks you up daily!!

Shultze appears to be a WONDERful dog! I'm so sorry for your loss, but you must be soooo happy with the times you had. Very cool dog and so easy with the new pup (OMG a pup) I do love Rat Terriers and hope your little dynamite has "ripened" into a nice doggie for you. Puppy/Rattie can be very challenging BUT I hope turns into a great relationship!!! RIP Shultze and hopefully the little terrier learned (a bit) from that well balanced dog.

OMG Rat Terrier races too funny!! I miss those our three are to old now to preform very often. When they were younger they would leave a track on the corner in the living room about two feet off the ground. They hit that corner so fast they actually would run up the wall.

We just adopted a new rat terrier from the animal shelter and introduced him to our german shepard/norwegian elkhound.

I am a dog trainer. He is what you do about that barking. You first teach the dog to bark on command. Then you attach a light line to the dogs collar for a couple of weeks. Then when the dog barks you yank the line and said no bark.
