that's so sad, about the alternator. i have a super crappy car, too. 95' grand prix with way too many miles on it and it leaks out the transmission fluid. yay.
I have the exact same car as Jesse, except a different color. My right back triangle window was broken too, but I replaced mine. And my alternator died recently. Coincidence...?
Well, that's nothin'. I bought a Ford Crown Victoria used for four grand. It gave out after less than 3000 miles. The engine blew up. Literally. I heard a loud BANG and when I pressed the gas after that, I'd hear a lot of rattling and the car would SLOW DOWN. Yes, the car would slow down when pressing down on the gas pedal.
Also, RIP Alternator. We'll miss you little big man, until you're replaced.
Aw man. *grins* Once you've gotten a 'Tick, Tick, Boom' car, you've officially gotten the worst car. At least yours managed to last you. My guardian's managed to go through SIX cars in the last year alone. And not once have we had a kit for the car. And my previous guardian had lots of bugs and leaves all over her car. But yeah, your car's still pretty sh*tty. lol.
Don't feel bad, Rob. I drive a '95 Volvo 850 with 372K km. It needs new brake rotors, calipers and pads, a new power steering pump, and work on the exhaust. I'm a mechanic. I'm telling you, I've seen mechanics drive cars that put yours to shame. Exhaust pipes held on by tie wraps, taped together with muffler tape, home made brake lines spliced together (illegal in QC), clutches that didn't work. He drove from Montreal to Quebec - no clutch. Believe me, sometimes, mechanics' cars are scary.
Didnt think I was alone in using a tape deck adapter, but its cool to see someone at least 1/4 famous using one. jk though Rob, you're cool. BTW dont worry too much about that dent on your car, the passenger side door of my 97 Blazer is dented so bad that the top of the door does not seal with the rest of the car.
Damn, I had to take a guess. I knew someone would catch that sooner or later! But I did say we weren't the best mechanics do at least there's continuity!
I'm catching up to you guys! I've got a 98 Accord I bought in summer of '05 with 90,000 now I'm up to 150,000. And I'm not even really considered a road comic. Loving the comedy and the podcasts man! Hope to work with you one day. You're a funny dude.
Yeah...I have a few videos on here but nothing that great. Search for Sina Amedson to see my stuff. I think one of the videos is a friend of mine. I'm also on myspace.
Suddenly I feel better about my old car. If you keep the interior messy, you're less likely to get searched by lazy cops. Also thieves don't want to steal a bucket or a messy car.
It was a sweet ride. Red Devil enamel paint job with lightning bolts on the side and a joker on the roof. Really a kick to see the looks at the border crossing into Canada to do gigs. Oh, yeah, HE'S getting searched.
Oh boy. Years of KATG later, this is the first time I've seen Joyce and Devito
