  • is that ps3 or 360

  • thx a lot

  • This actually helped out a lot, thanks!

  • the king of the fat

  • Phil makes the best videos on YT, he does a wide range of entertaining and useful things to keep his subsribers happy, but some show no respect.

  • there are so many thats what she said setups in this lol

  • I think it is cool that you can put an alternate outfit on your arcade stick. But you cant change it afterwaeds. But i wonder, is it possible to make an alternate looking hand controller.

  • (Continued from last post) I guess they're really handy, and being pro Street Fighter players, they learned how to do this. Anyway, although I would never atempt this myself, I did find this tutorial video series interesting. Well bye.

  • God damn, I never realized that Phil and Howard were so handy. I would never even attempt to do this without someone as handy like them around. Plus, it's time consuming and it looks like you got to have a real steady hand. I think if I wanted a joystick, I would just go buy one with artwork on it that I like and stick with it. At the very least, I would not attempt this without someone handy by my side and know how to makes custom joysticks like Phil and Howard do.

  • Very informative video. I'm planning on purchasing a HRAP 3. Now that my HFS just went out on me. What size push buttons would i need to purchase? and would a sanwa octagonal restrictor plate fit? Or would i have to modify the plate to make it fit? I don't like the box so much.

    Thanks.

  • Great videos! The only thing I would change, test the buttons once you connect everything BEFORE you put all of the screws and such back on.

You don't want to do everything, and then find, out you connected the buttons wrong.

  • is this stick for ps3? i mean the one he mod on this vid !!!

  • this was a wonderful tutorial thank you both so much for your time and effort, it is greatly appreciated

  • REALLY organized in your tutorial Thanx

  • thx for these vids they helped out a lot way better than other vids ive seen... thx

  • Great tutorial man. i plan on customizing my TE stick coming soon and i appreciate this guide you have given. plan on switching out the color of the buttons and ball top to possibly purple or black or maybe a mixture and getting a Juri template for the TE stick.

  • Thanks for the tutorial. Is it going to be around the same area to customize the TE-S edition by Mad Catz?

  • Great tutorial!

  • even though i dont have a joy stick it was VERY ENTERTAINING to watch.

  • @peraltaman fuck ur an idiot

  • @MarioBro15 hehehe

  • @peraltaman if if you didnt already know....the person building the stick is his friend.....Phil (DSP) is the one holding the camera and talking

  • thanx

  • THX :D

  • lol You and your buddy are in terrific shape lol JK

  • i think ill customise one for fun i dont really play SF but i can learn i guess

  • Hey dsp So is it easy'r with 6 buttons and whats the point of haveing 8 buttons

  • @GEO2142LIVE it depends how u play and they have 8 cause there are 8 buttons on a normal ps3 controler and i think some games use them but not street fighter

  • @ThingsAllRandom They're basically shortcut buttons you can set to throw moves or focus attacks

  • should of done a star pattern when screwing in the back plate. makes for a even flush fit :)

  • I wrote everything down, but i don't think i can do it as well as howard, he has steady hands, and i don't so disconnecting those wires from the buttons i am a little afraid of lol but i am willing to try it in the future so i wrote all them down :) and bookmarked them

  • Great tutorial. I may put a LS-56 into my HRAP1vB some day, so thanks for mentioning that it is compatible.

  • 90 minutes that is good time.

  • hey dsp what if i dont have a kinkos near me what kind of store would i need to look for

  • Great tutorial, just finished my mod.....THANKS!!! You guys did great, I'm waiting for the pizza parlor arcade tutorial!

  • Great tutorial! Top marks.

  • what are the tools you need?

  • 1 Philips head screwdriver

    1 Flathead screw driver

1 Socket wrench (for the bolts)

Some Elmer's glue and scotch tape

  • ab wheel

  • next there will be a 197- part tutorial, of phil explaining how howard builds him a bran-new pizza parlor / arcade.

  • Stick came out badass...i dunno if its the template or the actual paper the picture is printed on but it kinda looks dull...i suggest like commercial photo paper or regular HP photo paper, next time the quality will be better an the picture will pop more

  • Thanks dsp my custom modification looks great

  • sit ups

  • Great tutorial Phil. Enjoyed watching it.

  • it made my butt wet

  • Really thx for this tutorial it helps a lot.

  • there is, theres 1 in london, its called FedEx Kinkos, i found it on google maps, but i dono if they are the same in both USA and England

  • bout a 5 hour drive for me lol

  • brill vid. Would like to make my own custom arcade stick after watchin this

  • dude your fat as fuck

  • Damn how many of these things do you own?

  • I'll customize my own thanks to the straightforwardness of this tutorial. It was the perfect step by step guide for someone unfamiliar with the world of arcade sticks and I appreciate the time you spent to be organized in your tutorial. thnx :)

Cant Wait For The Next One!!!

  • one of the best videos you have made

  • doo 1 for the tournament edtion please wicked tutorial btw

  • It's a lot of work but it's worth it. Great tutorial, you should do more. ^_^

  • Anyone know if it's really necessary to take off the decal before you put on your custom art and plexiglass? I want to skip that part if possible.

  • A lot of work but the end results are excellent!

  • I think you should make more tutorials. This was really cool.

  • it was good and i don't even have any thing that uses a stick

  • awesome i want one but i live in belgium and u will never find those tools here send me one :D

  • man im a fan of street fighter i have to try dis

  • Awsome i gotta try that... but first i need an xbox a joystick and the places to get the equipment

  • stop calling phil fat

  • Even if people didn't see all the videos that reveals it's his friend Howard doing the demo, you can tell that isn't Phil speaking because his diaphragm doesn't move when you hear the voice.

Anyway, that was a great tutorial. I personally am not that into SF, but I like watching this kind of stuff. I feel like I would be able to do something like this after watching the vids, so good job.

Like someone else said though, next time you might want to film Howard from the right since he is lefty.

  • how do yall know hes not the camera man assholes.

  • you are correct he sounds hella different i pictured him as a skinny guy but ehh whatever

  • that's not him doing the thing. phil has hairy ass arms. watch his video of his custom stick.

  • that is not phil he the one holding thw camera

  • omg u fool that is not phil hes the one holding the camera dumbass

  • that is awsome. i guess your friend is macgyver lol

  • I have a question to the dudes who did the job on this. Is there anything like a perfect 360 stick that would fit this particular controller. I had an old MAS with a perfect 360 and loved the feel of it. Let me know and if yes there is could you maybe add one of those?

  • WAS THAT U MODING IT

  • i bet none of you guys watching this tutorial did anything, i bet you all just saying thanks just to be nice

  • Great Tutorial, great job for both, camera dude and screw dude :)

  • Thx very much for this tutorial!!! Thx!

  • awesome tutorial phil, looking foward for more

     this one really helped out

  • DSP: The HRAP3 comes with a sanwa JLF already in it, but to put new Sanwa buttons in them you have to dremel out the little metal tabs on the button holes.

  • nice walkthrough man, i'm thinking of doing that myself now. Thanks!

  • he seems to have a lot of time playing video games. what does he do for a living.

  • not sure

  • Good tutorial, clear and very useful. It going to help a lot of fighting game players. No doubt, i give 5 stars.

  • I really like the tutorial and I'm thing of doing it my self

  • is it really nesecerry to remove original artwork or can u put ur art straight on top ?

  • dude i get all the things of this tourtrorial so easy thx

  • Nice turorial.

I modded my HRAP3 [PS3] with Seimitsu buttons and ball top about 4 months ago.

  • nice like how u broke down how to make it i thought it was way harder to make one like that thanks

  • Why is there no bacon on it.

  • Very nice tutorial now i can trust myself to do this without doing a major screw up. Thanks for the tutorial it was helpful.

  • i love this tutorial it helped me alot thanks man great job

  • PREETY DAMN NICE Tutorial.

  • Phil,

Nice tutorial. I would've liked to see you swap out the buttons and stick for some higher quality ones. Keep making videos!

  • He did, with Sanwa buttons.

  • Very well done tutorial, Phil. You and Howard are quite the talents when it comes to this kind of thing. Looking forward to any future ones you do.

  • Great tutorial, i hope you do more, it was really helpful.

  • Great stuff. You probably helped more people than you can realize or at least inspired them to do this for themselves.

  • very good tutorial you should do some more

  • Wow this was awesome, glad you spent your time to help other people,so if this is the first tutorial,i cant wait for the next one, good job Howard and Phil

  • Great vid, this might seem a little daunting without a walkthrough, like this as a guide. Appreciate it.

  • Awesome stick and great work on the tutorial vids, keep em coming.

  • Your tutorial was flawless. Please post more :)

  • I want to thank you It helped me alot wen i made mine so thank you very much!

  • beautiful...

    you and howard rock,phil...

  • good tutorial. doing it this style is perfect.

  • hey DSP, nice tutorial. And by nice I mean, REALLy nice. I don't even play SF4, although I'm a fan of the videos AND the game, and I still watched it cause it is interesting. Keep up the good work!

  • Thanks for making the tutorial. It was VERY informative and you were even courteous enough to cut stuff out to save on time watching while still getting all the info out.

After watching this, i can already tell i woulda done some dumb ass mistakes while cutting out the art and probably woulda been stupid enough to leave fingerprints. lol.

Goes to show how important experience is. Good shit.

  • very awesome tutorial, going to mod my stick now. nice job phil thanks for the help, i dislike the 8 buttons too as im use to the original 6 button layout. *thumbs up*

  • i'm assuming thats not you being shown but just to be sure is it?

  • 10/10 tutorial

  • Very helpful, I suppose its similar for a TE stick? you make it look straightforward but potentially expensive if you get it wrong i guess.

  • looks sweet

  • keep doing these you are and howard are awesome 5/5

  • thanks phil u da man

  • what do u do for the other punch and kick button?

  • Basically. the 3 kick and 3 punch button is only good to use on a d pads which its easier. but if u want to play the stick like a pro u gotta do it the hard way. soo low punch medium punch hard punch = Ryu Ultra so u press the 3 buttons. Low punch low kick = grab. medium punch medium kick = focuse attack. = hard punch hard kick = personal action.... now do you get it. the other 8 buttons is just a waste of time and you aint going to enjoy the real way of playing the stick u get what am saying

  • It's good to keep those buttons so that you can navigate throughout game menus that may use those buttons.

  • Is good to keep em ofcours. but like people like me dont use those extra buttons. unless to make it easy like use the L2 as a focuse attack and R2 GRAB That can be done for easy people that has trouble cansel moves by pressing 2 buttons at once but like me i only use 6 buttons coz i like the japanese style nd i prefer square gate. i find it easy to execute moves. because like me i dont touch the edges of the gate it just slide them without touching unles am jumpin or sittin down if u no what i m

  • But like i need help. i want to customize my tournoment edition. i dont want to remove the orignal art cover. all i want is to print my work laminate it and put it on top would that work out. purpose is because i want to keep the orignal art cover from being scratched etc and dirt thats the reason why iwant to use a laminator. will it affect the buttons etc like it wont fit perfect the screws nd shit or it will? any sujestion
