The democrats always promise hope and help for the "working man" the poor, the "disenfranchised" but it never gets better because their plans don't work. I think by "live" he means have a decent life... buy a home, raise a family with medical care, save money for retirement, not live paycheck to paycheck etc. etc.

Consider that the average mortgage payment these days is about $1400/month ($200,000 house with no downpayment and 5% Interest) and your mortgage or rent should be 1/3 or less than your monthly income, so to comfortably afford the average house, you would need to make $4200/month or $50,400/year after taxes ($5460/month or $65520/year before taxes).
The American Dream is a Nightmare when you work for $20.000 a year! And how many of our young people are doing that? How many old people? We need Hope and that is sure not what McCain is offering! Who thinks a plumber makes $250.000 a year!

The democrats always promise hope and help for the "working man" the poor, the "disenfranchised" but it never gets better because their plans don't work. He says Obama offers hope, as a devout and sincere Catholic his hope can be in his faith and his God, not a man. No candidate can give ups hope and peace that is God's business but we vote for the one who matches our moral values the closest.

I probably shouldn't answer for someone else. But when this person says "live" in America, I don't think he means simply having a heartbeat within the borders. I think by "live" he means have a decent life... buy a home, raise a family with medical care, save money for retirement, not live paycheck to paycheck etc. etc.
You can live in a gutter on $5 a day, but I don't think that's what people refer to when they say "live in America."

I think he means to have a decent quality of life, and I pretty much agree with him. Consider that the average mortgage payment these days is about $1400/month ($200,000 house with no downpayment and 5% Interest) and your mortgage or rent should be 1/3 or less than your monthly income, so to comfortably afford the average house, you would need to make $4200/month or $50,400/year after taxes ($5460/month or $65520/year before taxes).

This was Obama's doing, digging financial ruin for folks. It is what credit companies have done for years, but when the government gets involved the problem is extended to everyone.
