Yeah i finally did it! The more powerfull lasers weren't suitable for this project, what I had to do was use my cheap laser of less then 1 mW ;P. The circuit of this laser converted the music much better to light, and the music quality was amazing!

I have my ipod attached and the music volume as high as possible, but the laser beam isnt "girating" what could be the problem? And i REALLY need an answer because this is for my final school project that i need to make to pass the last year! So pleasee help me :)

@tijnderking No it is more important to have a laser with few light scattering and the right color (so the solar panel absorbs all the energy) So you need a not to powerfull laser (powerfull lasers reflect more ;)) Which is also safer.

The concept might be real, but in practice i don't think it would work like that. There's a reason why they need a van and highly expensive equipment. The people that do use the vans also use more expensive equipment indeed to get a better signal, and filtering out all the crap. spend about $1 extra forget the solar cell and find a receiver diode that roughly matches your laser pointer, build an RC band pass filter for 200hz - 5000hz and amplify it with an OP amp. That extra dollar and <10 extra components should send the quality up quite a bit.

Question you have to ask yourself is; Do you want to spend a week studying to become elite?
