Here I am in April 2010 in Sydney listening to him at the Basement still singing all the songs we obviously loved back in the day. I just hope all you guys writing below my comments have had your opportunity since you wrote on here back in 2007. He was so bloody good I cant even explain the emotions I went through. Thank God someone found him after all these years.
He was'nt a "working stiff" but rather became a social worker, and served his local community for several years. If you pay attention to his lyrics it actually makes more sence than becoming a rich rock star.
I was surprised with the low-key nature of hiss appearance. He only played at the Factory when he was in Sydney. It's a great venue, but I thought he would have went for something bigger. I considered it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. You never know though...
Is there a site you can get put on a mailing list to keep tabs on any future tours? Missing him in 2007 is already eating away at me but the thought of missing another one will tip me over the edge....and stop rubbing it in that you considered it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity :) I want the status of 2007 show to change to a twice-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Cheers..
Man I only live an hour away from Sydney and would have given my right arm to see him, just didn't imagine in my wildest that he would ever be here in Oz.
I will forever keep my eyes and ears peeled for any news of another visit to our shores.
He is the master lyricist...would like to know if there are any film clips for Sandrevan Lullaby (Lifestyles) Arguably some of the best lyrics ever written. A must read for anybody who ponders the inequities, paradoxes and shame of modern life.
i think he's awesome. If you want to meet him, come to detroit. he just chills around here. he is at a local hippie street fair, the 4th street fair, every year... just walking around boozin' with his family...
Thanks for the comment Yellowcatz. It was well worth the long, long wait for him to finally arrive (25 years I think). I was lucky enough to talk to him and he was a pleasure.

To think this guy was just a working stiff back in Detroit till his kid found out he was a legend thousands of miles away.

Ha ha! Yeah, that was a bit slack of me wasn't it. I'll change it to "the-first-of-several-opportunities-of-a-lifetime".
I know his daughter had a site going which allowed fans to contact her. I'll try and track it down again.
