  • what kind of size stars do you use for your shells? because i want to buy a 8 mm star pump for my 3 and 4 inch shells

  • @FerroTitanium

    hi mate

i use 8mm stars, across all my stars.

These are very old rockets, but even my latest stuff, i use 8mm pumped or cut.

  • your camera does its sound justice! thay sound very loud! MY CAMERA DOESNT PICK UP THE DEEP TONE. ONLY THE POP SOUND. sorry that was all capitals. i didnt reallize my caps lock was on. im too lazy to retype it. nice job on the rockets!

  • @TheBombBros

haha, that comment made me laugh!

yeah its not that bad a camera, but it doesnt beat actually being there watching them go up!

    cheers mate

  • OMG i love your rockets. You are very skilled! BTW, what glue are you using on the end caps of those salutes? I've tried similar arangements with hot glue, but the glue plugs just blow out, leaving the case intacked...... :(

  • @frosty956

thankyou very much for your kind words.

i just use hot glue, on top of thick tissue plugs, i use quite powerfull flashpowder so there is nothing left of the tubes or plugs!

what composition of flashpowder are you using?

  • @murdoch2486 Hmm.. I wont write the formula here, it is a dangerous one....I wouldnt want someone who doenst know to see it and blow themselfs up, it should suffice to say that it is a chlorate composition. I think I'll try thicker end plugs, how thick are yours?

  • @frosty956

    yeah thats wise!

mmmmm, the glue is about 3-4mm thick id say? not very thick at all, its just to hold the FP in the tube really, the flash powder i use will almost detonate unconfined! so it doesnt need to be overly confined, or so ive found with a bit of experimentation

  • Awesome stuff mate, well done!

  • thanks a lot mate

good to hear from you again

  • Loved the 20g header a the end. BOOM

i made a 25g(ish) flash bomb, and lit it ground level and it blow a hole in the ground 1 foot wide!

    good job

  • haha, yeah thats my fav!

    lol, awesome!

    cheers dude, take it easy

  • Howmuch bp did you use for the launch?

  • @TheChoeetBangers1

its roughly 25-30g? that is a real estimate!

i know it doesnt sound like much but i use very dtrong fuel, with a half core. so thats where i get the power from!

    thanks for your input mate

  • Amazing rockets man! some of the best i've ever seen. Loved the salute only headers too :P

    What flash do you use?

  • cheers mate

you are the lad from the HMTD vid?

thanks a lot buddy, thats a very nice thing to say! the best!?! glad you enjoyed them,

yeah 20g is a lot with the powder i use, for the individual salutes!

i use 70/30 KClO4/ Eckhart 2 micron GD Al (lovely stuff, very powerfull!)

thats what i was thnking about the HE's, what about using that as a header on rockets? bit more economical?!

all the best for the new year mate

  • Well done mate, they look really good, keep up the good work :D

  • cheers man,

    glad you liked them!

    will do!

    happy holidays

  • have a good holiday too

    see you soon

    51

    51/si

  • fuck a duck, haha, i am a dumb shit!

so you finally figured out a cool name! haha

  • Youve got some beautifully made rockets. You get great results!

  • cheers, there is an art to making them!, after loads of practicing and experimentation, you get stuff like this?! i mean there is better out there but i enjoy this level of pyro!

    cheers

  • lol

ive just seen the 'winning video'!

i dont think there was a real firework in that vid?!

  • i hadn't seen this one, nice work mate! :D

  • cheers buddy

  • afff yes thanks very much dude!

Lets have a chat in some time

  • yeah no worries mate

    any time

  • nice rockets mate!

Really professional, thats the way its done!

If I wouldnt know your a hobby-pyro i´d just think they are store bought ;)

    5* ;)

How did you manage to fuse the salutes to the rockets that they go off so perfectly in time?

  • thankyou very much, very nice compliment!

its my own design, at the end plug, i have about 1/2" of empty space in which i fill with BP, i then drill 2 holes in the side of the tube outside this section (you can see the way the salutes sit on the motor, at the beginning of the vid) so when the motor has finished buring this delay mix is ignited, and thus ignites the differant lengths of fuse on each salute, as well as of course lighting the main effect header as well!

    does that help?

    cheers

  • Really great rockets!

  • cheers for your comment mate

    glad you enjoyed them!

  • You've got them dialled in perfect mate well done.

  • cheers mate,

yeah, pretty much, id say close to 80-90% consistant, but im always improving them, so these are out of date, compared to ones im developing now!

    cheers for input buddy

  • dude these rockets are absolutely great! I love the idea to add 2 titanium salutes!

  • cheers mate, glad you enjoyed them, yeah, i pretty much lways do it now, just to give more dimensions to the rocket, you know like breaking the typical mould of rockets?!

    cheers for your comment

  • can these rockets carry a 3 inch header? maybe it's fun to try it out with your dragon eggs matrix stars!

  • yeah, im sure they would, i have actually just run out 3" hemispheres, but ill get some in, and give it a bash!

yeah, thatd look awesome, i am planning to make bigger rockets in the future

  • Nice rockets!!! i remember you now.. you bought fuse from pyro planet ages ago... like ayear.. Haha you were a pyro noob then ^^

  • holy shit!

yeah i rememver you now! hows it going mate?

haha, yeah, ive come on a bit since then?!

  • @murdoch2486 Lol!! Meh.. its ok. Im still a crap "Pyro" In the middle of making my visco machine =] . Did you ever get your fuse? LOL

  • haha, no worries, youll get there.

bloody hell, thats a bit intricate isnt it?!

haha, no, i had to email them again, and they sent a replacement out, so yeah i got it eventually!

  • @murdoch2486

Hmmm i wonder if i will still get my free 50ft fuse.. from a year ago.. Just need to order something.. Hmmm .Lol. done more on my machine today.. Just need to add the motor, drive shaft and the collection reel. Anywho... Anychance of trying to make some Beraq Shells? =]

  • lol, exactly!

nice one, so its getting there?

yeah maybe, i think my own design of multi breaks are better, but if i wanted more inserts i would go for for the beraq.

  • Impressive stuff, looks like you had fun! 5*

  • cheers mate,

yeah, its always a good laugh! very satisfying when things go well!

    thanks for your comment

  • again what another brill vid and pyrotechinc, give it up for murdoch2486.

  • haha, cheers pal.

  • Wooh!!!! PERFECT:)

  • cheers mate,

had a few funny ones, but on a whole they were pretty good!

    thanks for your comment

  • lol triple loaded rockets, what they must be heavy. How heavy exact?

  • not really, the shells are only 2" so they weigh about 50g, and the 2, 5g salutes weigh about 10g each in all.

so thats a total of roughly 70g?! which isnt much at all! and these motors, are very powerfull, i bet i could lift a 3" shell with one of these tiny motors?!

    cheers

  • holy shit, very very nice rockets!! i dont make rockets any more, i just cant afford to buy the chemicals :( plus im aftraid of CATO, just like you!! omg that was a bit dodgy with that salute going off that low!! haha nice one mate

  • yeah, it definately isnt a cheep hobby!

haha, i know, it scared the shit out of me! but thats the fun of it?! i suppose?!

    love your vids mate

    all the best

  • murdoch, dude, Awesome!00%

nice delays nice cato's to, they looked awesome specially that one on head height does give a clear picture of what youre working with and how it effects the ears at that altitude, really cooL rockets +5

  • cheers pal,

    very kind of ya buddy

haha, yeah it was a monster of a CATO!

    all the best mate

  • Fantastic rockets! Love the titanium salutes,my kind of rocket!

  • cheers buddy

yeah, i always throw atleast 2 on pretty much every rocket i make! as they give it that extra punch! its very satisfying when you get a delay on them, just by having differant lengths of ignition fuse, to each device.

    cheers for your comment mate

  • nice rockets i like them keep up the good work only to bad that there where some cato's 5 stars from me

  • cheers mate

yeah, it was, but all the same that 20g FP header cato was kinda fun!

.......well after i could hear again!

    cheers for your comment mate

  • i like the one at 1:20

  • me too!

my new favorite stars, those matrix stars!

    cheers for comment mate

  • hey great video man. i need to make some bismuth trioxide dragon eggs to make these matrix stars becuase they are great looking

  • yeah, they really are cool, yeah youll have all the other chems to make the dragon eggs, like the MgAl, Al and copper oxide, its just the Bismuth youll need, but it aint cheep!

  • oh, i see. im working on a completely new star composition i made up. i made four samples with different ratios to try and find the best performing star. the chems are just magnesium, sulfur, and charcoal. i made a char and i will grade their performance to get the best results. if it turns out ill share the exact comp. keep up with the good vids pal.

  • o rite, nice one

let us know how that goes mate.

    cheers bud

  • Comment removed

  • I'm speechless mate!

    Very Nice!

    5*

  • haha, cheers mate,

very kind of ya, the hard work does pay off when you light those fuses!

    all the best

  • nice rockets, looked really professional.

and most of them performed good:D

    keep up the good work.

  • cheers mate,

yeah, just 3 of them that gave unintended effects, but even they were quite nice in my view?!

    will do mate, cheers

  • Well done! Very nice work and vid!

  • thanks a lot mate, hope you enjoyed the show!

  • Jesus m8, you make some high quality stuff. Great job. They looked very professionally made.

    Great video, 5*

  • cheers pal,

i always put a lot of effort into bonfire night, as its the one of the only times of the year, when i can set my stuff off in the garden and get away with it! every other time, i have to trek out into the countryside!

    cheers for your comments mate

  • That was wonderful! Thanks for your hard work to entertain me. Your big salute design reminds me for some inexplicable reason of a hammerhead shark. Maybe call them hammerhead salutes? LOL. BTW its not November 5th yet or am I in a coma!?

  • really glad you liked it mate.

haha, i call them the 'hammer of doom'! but hammerhead sounds cool as well!

haha, i live in the UK! time differance! haha, yeah its all over now, its 1:00 in the morning of the 6th here!

    cheers for your comment!

  • Why the fuck did I go to Fylde????

was it any good this year?

  • NO! I paid my lunch money to stand in the mud with chavs and watch recession fireworks!

  • hahahahaha, funny stuff!

it is a bit of a sprawl there!
