My favorite song is Nymphetamine,but Midian is definitively my favorite album.

Cthulhu Dawn- 3 (Never saw it to be catchy)

Saffron's Curse- 4.5 (Amazing....lyrics made it)

Death Magick For Adepts- 4 (I like the poem at the end)

Lord Abortion- 4.5 (Great piece of work, everything just flowed)

Amor E Morte- 4 (Somewhat catchy)

Her Ghost In The Fog- 3 (Way too overated)

Tearing The Veil From Grace- 5 (Epic lyrically and instumentally)

Tortured Soul Asylum- 4.5 (Great finishing song

I agree with you, Saffrons and Tearing are the 2 best tacks. Her ghost... the reason it's overrated is that it's so basic (musically) it could be a pop song (with guitars added)

Good Review but I Thought Amor E Morte was a Really Amazing Song just Like All Their Songs. Satanic Mantra could have been longer and more Versatile Features instead of the constant chant i agree.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but i agree that Saffron's Curse and Tearing the Veil should be rated higher.

My favorite songs would be Tearing the Veil from Grace, Her Ghost in the Fog, Saffron's Curse, Tortured Soul Asylum, and Lord Abortion

My favorite from Midian is Tearing the Veil from Grace, amazing drums. But I prefer the OLD Cradle forever. Vempire, Dusk, Cruelty are Amazing.

I thought Saffron's Curse & Tearing the Veil From Grace deserves a higher rating, but I do agree with you on Satanic Mantra, Pointless! Maybe it has a meaning toward the album that you or anyone else, including myself may not understand, whatever Midian Kicked ass

many say cruelty of the beast album is the blackest album, with more screaming, not as melodic, is more grunge. Median is hard, yet dramatic with its melodic orchestral pieces.

You need to watch the dvd documetry "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey" to understand the difference of the types of metal out there. That's why this era we currently live in is so unique, to have so many genres within each genre.

That documentary was better at discussing what metal means to the fan and a bit on censorship, but there was a lot of confusion.

I prefer not to look at music in terms of just one area. Looking only for decipherable lyrics is to pigeonhole all that Cradle of Filth are. By the way, if you'd bother to look up the lyrics, you might actually start to understand them better. Also, the song "Foetus of a New Day Kicking" is almost completely decipherable, so that might be of interest to you.

i completely agree they are as much quality work as any other track in the album, just more melodic (an important concept in CoF).

I liked the Midian album alot too. Although Dusk and her Embrace (Gothic Romance being my favorite song off of there) is my all-time favorite cradle album, midian comes in at a very close 2nd.
