  • "My feelings for this wo-man.. are unlike aneething I have ever felt." Seriously.. Phillipe.. What fucking country are you from?

  • He has a lovely voice.

  • So she was cool with him killing people, or at least trying to, but because he's got a messed up face NOW all of the sudden she's afraid of him?? Stupid hoe...

  • Comment removed

  • I feel really bad for Erik. I would have not done what Christine did!

  • Phillipe talks so unnaturally. I don't know whether the pause after Gerard asks him if he loves her is an 'I have to think about it' pause or a dreamy reaction.

  • Cages= SEXY. lol

  • What does he say at 2:55?

  • @Arreisenta I think, "You made this happen. I was happy with the way things were."

  • Where does the refletion of the water come from at 6:51 ? I thought they were standing in the opera not underneath it?

  • Great job, Christine. You've unleashed the beast. Hope you like it.

  • @xcrazyphangirlx: right on.

  • Wait, wasn't Christine in a cage? And maybe I'm just the sort of person who sticks up for the "little guy" (who, considering all the Christine haters, is her in my mind) but she clearly heard the ruckus the Phantom was making and saw how nonsensical he was being before. It makes sense she would try to run away instead of being smashed like everything else.

  • Holy cow, can I please smack Christine for running from Erik? I mean, seriously?! Great way to show a guy you "love"him, Christine......NOT!

  • This Raoul/Philippe just makes me want to slap him. What a fop. Christine, why would you go with him???!

  • Phillepe is such a darn liar did you see that?! Gerard asked him "do you love her?" he HESITATED!! did anyone see that or was it just me? Note to self: pretty boys aren't all that pretty on the inside

  • What a bitch!

  • Sorry. Wrong portion of the video:)

  • They're kissing lovingly whole the poor misunderstood Phantom is dieing from heartbreak in the underground labyrinth. Shows how much they car and that usually in this society, beauty always wins.

  • I really hate Cristine. I'd try to get the Phantom out.

  • Does anyoe else see the resemblance between this Raoul (technicaly Philip) and the 2004 patric wilson. I mean they both seem nieave, they bothe have bounce reddish blond hair. Christine's dress also looks like the 2004 PoTO wedding dress that Christine woar. ALSO This phantom with the black mask on looks like Gerare Butler in "Passt the point of no return." also 2004 version. Cowincidence? I THINK NOT!!!! MWA HA HA HA!!

Sorry for any wierd spelling mistakes:(

  • for a second I thought he was gonna thro Christine into the water! Note to self: don't get erik PO'd or bad things will happen

I LOVE THIS RAOULS HAIR! ITS SO FOPPISH!!!

  • nooooooooo i can only get like 4 seconds in and it freezes! gaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!

  • I'm going to be horrible and say this: I think she deserved being locked in a cage after fainting over his face. XD

  • I think all of these comments are a little unfair. Christine genuinely thought she could handle looking at Erik's face. She wasn't lying to him at all, she really did think that she loved him enough to see past whatever "semblance of a face" he had. But if it's bad enough to make her faint, then obviously...it's bad. I mean, really bad. I could probably stand here and say that I wouldn't care about appearances, but until you're faced with something as bad as Erik's face, then I'm not hating her.

  • DL the audio from this track at tubepull doht cohm.

  • So . . . he puts the black mask on when he's angry. OK.

Its like that line from Toy Story where Mr. Potato says, "These are my angry eyes!"

  • stupid bitch Christine.

  • 8:04 umm, you didn't finish your story Christine!

  • She says she loves him yet runs away after seeing his face, stupid bitch

  • Anyone else sick of Christine shrieking "PLEEEEEEASE"?

    Cause I am.

  • @Xanaphia96 I seriously wanna smack her or shove her into a hard stone wall or something. "If you looooove me pweaaaseeeee?" CHRISTINE, SHUT. UP. NO ONE LOVES YOU ANYMORE.

  • yes Christine, you've seen his face now you know hes not a total stud so of course hes going to hurt you..yes..run away...break his heart yet again...good plan. NOT

  • He finally trusts her enough to show her his face and she faints? Really?

  • My first impression was that Erik was bouncing on a trampoline of sorts to release pent up aggression. Silly me.

  • Has anyone noticed that at 3:39, Phillipe slips on the stairs? Haha.. I replayed it a couple times. He stumbles just a tad. Hahaha. Love it. :)

  • See, Christine, when you break someone's heart they start to trash their own place!

  • If you know his heart, why did you faint when you saw his face?

  • Poor Erik.....

I really feel like strangling Christine. She says one thing then does another... She doesn't deserve anyone's pity.

  • 2:02 tap dance! XD but still poor Erik DX

  • poor erik...i must cry

  • It's just such crap that Christine acts like all of sudden bc he's ugly (like she wasn't warned) that he would hurt her. She knows his heart and I can't believe that she WOULDN'T see him going postal if she were to reject him.

  • @phantomismine agreed, it kills me that she begs him to take off his mask and then has such a violent and irrevocable reaction to it...

  • OH MY WORD! grow some overies girl!!! he's so adorable! who cares what he looks like? i mean really? really, she actually passed out?

  • it's kinda cool because this Erik is always sooo calm, so when he gets mad, it's REALLY scary!

  • Quick!! Someone get Phantom more things to throw furiously into the water!!!!!!

  • ooohhh playing chase is fun... but going to the count? man that's cruel... leaving Erik alone... that was death... poor Erik...

  • ERIK CAN TAPDANCE! lol

And Rao...Phillipe seriously annoys me. I really don't like....I just don't like him. I may be totally biased in Erik's favor, but I still don't like him.

....Or the fact that his hair is prettier than mine.

  • @lolkittehs34 With hair like that, he's prettier than everyone. He should be on a shampoo commercial.

    Phillipe: IIIIIII'M the PRETTIEST!

Then again the company might go out of business...

  • 'is he in love with her?' (philippes inner mind: damn, i have no chances against this guy...)

    'yes he is'

'oh god.'(philippes inner mind: as i said...)

    christine :STOMP STOMP STOMP

    erik: *sneak *

    christine: PLEASEEEE!!!

(philippes inner mind: thanks god...i wont have to hurt my barbie ken face)

such and weird scene... I LOVE IT.

  • I know a lot of you guys think this is a fop Raoul and all, but i kind of think he's....cute. Sorry :)

  • Wait...did Raoul just pronounce his last name wrong?

  • @TheSavannahroberts

    Yes, yes he did. LMAO

  • This is the only "Raoul" that could even be considered foppish in any way... and he's not even Raoul!

  • Also, Christine being all delirious and crazy and screaming that she wants to leave? Very Leroux. I'm impressed.

  • Comment removed

  • Christine is a wimp!

  • so thats how you open a lock! just fiddle your fingers on it then wa-lah!

  • (baby voice)

Aaaaw, who's havin a widdle temper tantwum then? Who's in an itty-bitty bad mood?

And nothing, NOTHING, says mindless rage than tap dancing on a piece of scenery.

I still love how he's still quite funny.

    Christine(whiny and pathetic): I'm sorry!

    Erik (sarcastic): I'm sure!

However, I'm still fighting a desire to punjab the fop.....

  • Oh my God, I've never seen that part that way! Great, Erik's in a bad mood, and all I can do is laugh because it's so funny looking! Poor Erik.

*sniggers* The song that's running through my head is Anything Goes with that large tap number. Gasp! Wouldn't Erik look adorable with a sailor hat??

  • Lol! As long as he had the cute little pipe like Popeye ^.^

  • Of course! God, if he were alive (yes, I do believe he might've existed) he would -so- kill us right now.

  • @lilanthia Me: Is someone having an itty-bitty temper tantwum-

Erik: - dismembers random person without touching them -

Me: Okaaaaaay, Mr. I'm-A-Bit-On-The-Edge, I'm just gonna... go...

    Erik: RRRRRRAAAAAAGEEEEEEEE!!!!

  • It always amuses me how Phillipe doesn't listen to Gerard when he's like, "Get back." It's like, "DOOD, listen to him! Do you wanted to get 0wned by the Phantom?"

  • ok it not like i'm bashing raoul when i say this its just that i hate all men his type

  • wait, what did Erik say when he grabbed Christine's arm at 2:54 - 2:56? I heard, "Christine, go to Hell!" but I don't think that's right...

  • Something along the lines of: "This didn't have to happen."

  • oh thank you, that makes a whole lot more sense...

  • He says 'this needn't have happened!"

But I prefer the Go-to-hell line myself!

  • i think he said "christine , this is hell" but im not sure

  • They're just playing hide and go seek.

    haha.

  • YOu know... out of all the Phans I know... No one likes The Fop (and I say fop only because I am confuzed why they changed the fop's name from Raoul to Philipe )

  • In the novel, Philipe was Raoul's older brother. I don't know why they did that either? O_o

Maybe they thought changing the name would somehow make him less, oh, how to put this? ...Raoul-ish?

  • I do. I think "fop-bashing" is immensely immature. I still like Erik better. It's possible, you know. >>;

  • Raoul/Phillipe is not a "fop". >:(

  • Wow. Someone who agrees with me. Thank you!

    -Christine :)

  • I really don't like this Raoul/Phillipe! At least in some adaptations of POTO they make him nice...

Christine! Why did you do that to poor Erik? That is so sad!

This movie is so well done though! Thanks for posting!

  • ughhh she makes me so mad!

  • gerard said 30 years

wow Erik's really young in this one.

he may even be younger then the gerry phantom o.O oh well there both yum!

  • dear god, christine, if you are going to sneak away, at least try to stop stomp around in your heels.

    COMMON SENSE

  • Ha ha! You're right but I can't help thinking "But they make my legs look HOT!"

  • hm...raoul/philipe talks like his tongue is to heavy:

nofing i fel to anionE! shz ma life

    wot are you taking abovt?wot?chistine?

  • Exactly! I thought the same thing!

  • I just realized that Charles Dance was Maxim De Winter in Rebecca, and am ashamed of finding him so damn attractive in this...

  • Why ashamed, waxwingshadow? Did you not find 'Maxim de Winter' attractive?

  • I needed this for my homework thankx!!!!

  • gaaah this raoul-philippe i just wanna punch him in the face >:(((

  • For someone who lives alone in the darkness, without contact with othe people it's nothing strange to be a bit immature. "Real" Erik (from the book) also was, in my oppinion. If you don't do whatever Erik want he will kill you and himself. Isn' t it immature? But it makes him more tragic character. Oh, I should shut up:) I could talk about him whole night.

  • Well, I don't think the word immature describes the Erik character from the book. That one was really ruthless and evil, whereas Erik (Charles Dance) was more of a sentimental and sensitive person. And of course he fell in love for the first time in his life and could not afford losing Christine especially from Count de Chagny who hated most!

  • Comment removed

  • Christine is harsh! I mean was all that really necesary! She could have been more civilized about the whole situation.

  • ok maybe it's me but Erik comes across as a littlee bit imature in this version i mean look at the tuff he has in his lair, ponies? doll? forests that don't torture people? i understand they are making erik slightly different in this one but still he seems more like a kid in this one.

  • That sthe /point/. =Head desk=

  • The phantom is a tap dancer at 2:02!

  • He should have tap danced on Christine's face [then they would be even >:) ]

  • talk about a mad phantom O.o

  • This is bull, Christine knew Erik's tender heart, I mean dude, passing out might be one thing, BUT SHE RUNS AWAY?! Bitch....I thought she loved him like she said she did. That's the rudest thing ever.

  • @SailorDirector In the original Kopit and Yeston musical, Christine actually runs away when she sees Erik's face instead of fainting. In a way at least this is better that she fainted. She only ran away because she was scared of his temper.

  • When Erik gets mad and starts to bully Christine, lock her and chase her is my favorite scene because it's so realistic to what the real Erik would do.

  • So who is the real Erik?

  • The one portrayed in the original novel by Gaston Leroux. It shows the Phantom as someone who doesn't seem to have all his marbles. lol.

  • Ah, the 90's. Wonderful ideas, not so good execution. There are a few flaws in script, but Sailor's theory is a good one.

  • Christine isn't very good at "sneaking" :/

  • I like Erik but honestly. Imprison some girl in a cage where she only has to shove back a bolt? And where the bars are so far apart that if she was just a bit smaller she might have fit through them without bothering with the bolt? The man s**s at imprisoning pretty young girls. Forward volunteers for practising.

  • *raises hand* XD

I don't think he ever planned on imprisoning anyone before so he didn't really think of how she could escape. Or maybe, just maybe, in the back of his mind, he did want her to escape, since he felt all hope was lost and because of how much he loves her.

  • My theory is that there wasn't much thinking going on in Erik at that point. (And maybe not in the scene designers either. The movie has more than it's fair share of weird/unlogical moments, probably because the plot was originally written as a musical.)

  • actually, POTO is a book from the EXTREMELY early 1900s

  • I know; it was a typical gothic romance when it was written: wilting heroine pursued by sinsiter admirer.

But the comment seems a bit OT. Was it meant to be a reply to these comments?

  • yeah. i just keep forgeting whom it was i was talking to.

  • ...And that's what you call a grown man's temper-tantrum.

  • Word. Though I suspect he saved up for it for a decade or so. And after all the sweetness I kind of like seeing him blow off steam. Especially since Raoul is adding saccharine to the mix, too.

  • Good point.

  • You mean Phillipe. *rolls eyes*

What was with the character change anyway? Why did they use Raoul's brother instead?

  • You are right of course! My stupid. I'm watching another version where they kept Raoul which is a much better name for a romantic hero.

I think they made the change because because (1.) saves the decision whether or not to mention the elder brother and (2.) Comtes have more money & power than Vicomtes and are slightly easier to write and pronounce.

  • he irrates me so much in this version. why couldn't the phantom kill him

  • LOL! Exactly.
