This baby has Harlequin Icthyosis This means their skin sheds and regrows much too fast. They are born with cracked skin and their eyelids are inside out, but underneath they are normal. Most die in infancy, but with correct treatment (removing excess skin and using special creams several times a day) they can survive and look almost normal. Their skin will always be slightly sore and shiny, but they can live into adulthood and lead happy and productive lives.
