Yea this was on Nick when I was young it really didn't register as a kid. But I just remembered it several years later. Kinda morbid but it did get you thinking as a kid. I remember asking my parents what this was and they thought I was crazy lol.
I saw this when I was a kid (im 25 now) i remembered the scene as in what happened and the concept but I completely forgot the yellow and seeing it again I just now got that he's the yoke being all round and yellow. At the time I first saw it I just thought he was some guy who did unto others and others did it unto him, This short and Your Face by Bill Plympton stuck with me in the back of my mind for a couple decades now until I googled a description of them both one night out of the blue.
@pillowpannts I'm very glad that I have found this after years of searching and that my story seems to match a lot of others. I'm also 25 now, saw it only once on Nickelodeon and it really screwed up my mind. Very disturbing but so glad I found it again.
I'm sure on liquid tv version where I first saw this, I don't recall him saying grace before eating his egg at the beginning. Perhaps saying grace isn't something they want to promote at liquid tv so that bit got cut.
this just displays the obvious fact, although it is funny, there is always something bigger than us to crush us. even with the same malicious intent we have towards other life forms. we are next!
But guess what? If he hadn't been so merciless in killing the egg, he wouldn't have died himself. It was his own actions which killed him. He thought it was only a good joke--but the very violence he delighted in, killed him exactly sixty-four seconds later. As soon as he smashed the egg for the final time, he made his own death inevitable--because it had already happened. He was his own victim--and never realized it. OH THE IRONY!
This is it!!! This is it!!!! The Killing of an Egg!!!! Oh my God I have been looking all over for this I haven't seen this in like twenty years!!!!! I remember Nickelodeon used to show this God those were better days!!!! :D Thankyou so much for posting this!!! I can't beleive I am seeing this right now!!! :D
@ardalsgirl Amen! Your Not The Only Kid Who Saw It! OMG I Thought It Was Sooo Funny!,Plus Ive Been Looking For This Ever Since Youtube Was Created...But Kept Putting Man In A Egg Tv Shorts...Finally After 20+ Years Here It Was...TTωTT Back When Tv Was Actuly Worth Watching!
@wajinBoy Lol me too! I could never remember the name of it either! How I finalley stumbled upon it was I was watching Liquid Television on here (another one of my favorites shows as a kid, bring back the old MTV! :p) and in the credits I saw the picture of this and couldn't believe it so I paused it and got the name of it, finalley! :p lol
Hey Who Is It? Yeah Just A Minute I'm A Coming. Hello! Hello! Yes What is it? Hey Hey Watch It Who Is It? Now Stop That! Hey No! No! Hey N.....(Screams).
haha i remember watching this when i was like 10.. it was soo bizarre.. i never knew the meaning of this short clip.. and i still dont. sigh... but its very strange indeed
I remember seeing this on American television when I was a kid. Instead of a million commercials, they used to have short animations in between shows. This was one of them. For years I didn't know what it was called until now, thanks for sharing.
Aw snap! I remember this cartoon! This came on right after Noozles or before the Little Koala on Nick Jr.! Man, I remember so many other short cartoons like this one, but this one was my favorite!
The film maker is Paul Driessen, Dutch animator...I consider him one of best film maker and animator in the world...I had the pleasure to learn and gain experience from him during his teaching classes in Kassel university, Germany.
also..he is very kind, understandable person and full with humanity I ever met in my life.....he is living in canada now and works for the national film board of canada
I had been searching for this, or anyone who vaguely remembered it, for years. I started to think that my sister and I had invented it in our imaginations. This makes me happy.
This movie short is a timeless classic. It was a lot more disturbing when i was little though. My cousin and i laughed about it all through dinner cause it was one of the weirdest things we had ever seen! Nice!
I definitely remember this disturbing me when I was kid. But I also kind of loved it too. I loved the way spoon sounded on the egg, the way the house crunches inward, that nightmarishly grey scene that shows the outside of the house, yellow asscrack! I can't believe I'd forgotten about this until now.
Damn.... this takes me back. I always thought this cartoon was completely screwed up and twisted.... Now that I see it 10 or 15 years later..... it's still pretty screwed up and twisted....
I was just thinking of making egg salad because mum's not here to make my lunch. I then thought of this cartoon suddenly, and here it is. Still weird as ever. It's got to be over 10 years old by now. What a time. How did I still remember it?
Good to see that I wasn't the only person who Nickelodeon traumatized as a kid in the late 80's/early 90's.
