The one thing you are suppost to remember.... and you didnt do it... oh well.. Small boats are ok when that happens. but 20 to 30 ft boats, it never turn out good after that happens
Cool.... I knew a guy who pulled his boat out of the water without the safety strap on and the winch latch broke. He was winching his boat back off of the pavement when I got there.... yep an embarrasing moment for him but really not something that should happen. We all laughed after we got it back on the trailer.
@ sn95Money pit- You being able to ONLY maintain 2 thing's in your head is NOT a surprise !, I KNOW that all of you BOATING "EXPERTS" Have ALWAYS nailed down the "Simple" Hook & Go Right ? Nobody's ever forget to hook up the trailer lights, or lock the pin, and I'm sure that "NONE" of you have ever lost a Trailer light backing up, Engine tilt lock "ON" and all the bulbs are working right ? Trailer hubs are "Greased" and re-packed, "You tube"... where everyone's got an opinion, and is an "Expert"
Oh man, that's too funny! Glad that it was aluminum and you had the motor up. I think it's always good to share mistakes so that other morons like me can learn.
@halverdha1 Look at all these losers commenting on this video, like they`ve never made a mistake in their life. Everyone forgets something now and then. It called being human.
The guy is recording everything but doesn't offer to help or double check that he is hooking up everything correctly and then has no response when the boat is falling off. Just says, "you forgot the boat"... Instead of like HEY STOP wait wait... nice friend... haha
There's 8 million thing's to remember when retrieving a boat, and lot's of things to look out for, it's easy to forget something, no damage, no foul ! Try again , that's all !
much better here then on the street. my dad ended up doing that, 50 feet out of pulling out of the parking lot the boat fell right off. luckily the shop was open and offered to put it back on the trailer. for a price of course
Here I was passing the cold Ohio winter and thought I would amuse myself watching some boat launch bloopers and stumble. When I saw the ramp I knew it was the in the keys and almost immediately recognized it as the hotel I stayed at this spring, Harbor Lights Motel. And yes, that is a tight ramp, maybe 8 ft wide if that.
You're exactly right. I never liked the idea of powerloading a boat or something like that. It's too easy to forget to hook up your winch and safety chain. Watching boaters vs. boat owners is almost as entertaining as a day on the water!
There are boaters, and people who own boats. You ALWAYS drop the trailer short for that very reason. It forces you to crank the boat up onto the trailer, hereby eliminating the possibility that you will ever forget to hook up the front.
2wd S-10 sucks for a boat ramp. I've had 2 and I wonldn't dare try a boat ramp with the 2wd I owned. Thats one of the reasons I bought the 4wd version for the 2nd. Also had to pull a guy with a 2wd S-10 out of a gravel boat ramp steeper than that by far while the dumbass was pulling a huge speedboat with my Wrangler. And I had pretty bald tires I might add. YEAH, Jeeps kick ass! LOL.
Is it a 2wd? Because I have a S-10 2wd and im thinking about buying a boat around the time size, but i'm afraid of the rear wheels slipping on the ramps.

you don't put the straps on the back of the boat until it is out of the water and in the parking lot; bow hook only until then.

Thanks for asking.
