One topic that has been in the news lately is the legalization of marijuana. I personally don't do marijuana but I believe that everybody makes their own decisions. With cannabis illegal, law enforcement officers are constantly ripping plants from the grown and destroying them. This is not being green at all. If marijuana was made legal, then the plants could stay and the earth would at least be a little bit greener. This is just what I think.

What are we supposed to do with those new energy saving light bulbs? They have mercury in them so they are very dangerous to have in our homes if they break. The greens took a safe lightbulb that used more energy for a bulb loaded with poison that will get into the air we breathe if broken. Thanks Al Gore. I am for common sense and preservation, but those new bulbs were a bad idea.

2: Walk to school (if it's just a few blocks or so away)

3: Recycle

4:Pick up trash (You WILL need a bag to pick up trash)

5:help animals (Whales have died due to washing up on shore.If this happens near where you live,ask for help to get it back in the water or call the police,vets,etc.)

i say the melting of the glaciers is just part of earths cycle, the earth is just reverting back to its prehistoric days, and then in a couple of hundred years there will be another ice age and then it will all start over again. We are just helping earths cycle along with all the CO2 emissions and stuff like that.

when they say x number of scientists agree on "global warming" they are generally referring climatologists. I have yet to hear some evidence from astronomers or astrophysicists agree with them on these issues. I think human produced co2 is a minor part of it given how powerful the sun is.

I agree with your point that global warming probably isn't as much us as it is natural climate change... your citing the how powerful the sun is as a backing argument made me lol. The sun has always been there... if it was the cause of global warming then things would always be this way. It's our atmosphere and its ability to block the sun's(which--once again--has always been there) rays/let gases out... the earth is warming, fact. We should put money torward adaption to changes, not solutions.

But about the sun's influence on the climate, I don't think anybody has denied that it does have an impact. However, it's not the only factor. If it were, then the temperature should be much lower than it is.

Only two things need to be proven: That CO2 is a greenhouse gas and that we are emitting it. It's really no more complicated than that.

Everybody already knows that the sun is a major factor. We even have statistics that prove that there is a link between solar activity and temperature, but it has also been conclusively shown that solar activity doesn't explain changes in temperature during the last 20 years for example.
