NO the entier game was so sad i actually started getting really depressed and sad after the masked man was revielied to be klaus and he comitted suicide and the only thing lucas remembered about klaus was SENSORY MEMORIES

And with that logic, everyone already knows who the final boss is because the "translation patch has been out for about 2-3 years", so that's a moot point.

Earthbound is still one of the best games ever, but Mother 3 is much, much darker and so f'd up in ways I couldn't imagine. It got deeeep. I mean, so much death. Although, I was kind of hoping for a better character at the end than Boney.. like why didn't Flint join??

I personally think that the Masked Man's theme is better than this. And the ending of the fight is definitely better (I mean, it's so heart-wrenching, that I usually shed a tear just because I'm listening to the song). The ending of this fight is just creepy.

I actually like EB more; it wasn't so linear. Mother 3 was amazing though.

This theme got me into Mother 3, though I had played Earthbound once (Ages ago at a gamestore that let you try use Snes Games and such in the store) and though it didn't captivate me at the first this game has changed that, I'm definitely looking into the other Mother games.

What I love about this theme is that it is so bombastic and quite unique,like the game itself.

I loved Earthbound as a kid. I thought there was no way that Mother 3 could compete with my childhood nostalgia. I even heard several people say the music was better. Impossible, I loved EBs music. Well, I just finished Mother 3 and... It's better than even my nostaligic memories of EB. And the music is better too.

@Namingway The interface is vastly superior as well ( Press A, select "talk" was utterly annoying :P) This also adds up in making it a better game. Both upgrade in interface and brilliance of mantaining (even improving) the gameplay of Mother3 is what makes it better than EB. Of course, it wouldn't have been done that way without EB as a base start for improvement.

If you liked Earthbound, or even if you didn't, you owe it to yourself to play Mother 3. That game is amazing despite being a GBA game. Definitely one of the best games I played in 2008 on any system.
