The cage you see is his sleep/travel cage. It's way WAY too small to house him in during the day. I had him in it that afternoon just because he was making a nuisance of himself while I was trying to finish my emails. His usual "day cage" is 4'w x 3'd x 4.5' h.
We haven't seen any trouble like that with George. Don't really know how susceptible ekkies are to plucking. I do know, however, that they are very sensitive about diet (inadequate diet causes a lot of problems for ekkies) and they probably need more humidity/bathing than others.
@LizTheParront Posting this to a friend, figured to tell you. My mom washing dishes, eclectus comes up in conversation (b/c they're my favorite) and I start singing Georges' song. B/f joins in. Then as we go, "MUAH!!" (or "la!") we lean in to smoosh our faces on my mom's shoulders.
Are you kidding me? This bird sings with vibrato? Wow! This little guy sings better than most of my friends!
