this is probably my most favorite rap song of all time. does anyone out there have any idea how to make a clean version of this song? i know one way is to buy it on vinyl and scratch out all the curse words. i don't own a turntable and a mixer, and i am not going to do it just for this song. does anyone know any programs that i can use to edit it without having to go through the 90's dj route?
No offense spainman but drake shouldnt even be mentioned in the same sentence as raekwon, todays rap sucks balls, all the rappers today suck major balls. 90S HIP HOP IS WHERE IT WILL ALWAYS BE AT.
This is why Nas is top 3... Whenever he collabs with The elite emcees... he raises his game... and when that happens you know no-one else comes close. GFK and RAE went hard but damn.... Nas..
I have no beefs w/ Drake, he stays in his lane to me. I'm a 90's hip hop head and I know what's good and what isn't, but I won't front like I don't listen to new stuff, but one side of me does get really critical. But hey it's like this to me.... Fast food is good, but too much isn't good for you, or you get tired of eating it and at some point need that well prepped meal.
RZA - greatest producer of all time ?!?!?!?!?!?!?! i dont know about that .. ask dj premier ask stoupe the enemy of mankind ask evidence .. fuck kanyeeeee ..... MF DOOM is ill though ... and so is RZA but not the best
@Mehrab32 RZA Has CREDENTIALS Back From 91 to Argue that statement.....but i agree With the mf doom statement... he produced a lot of underground gems
This beat, like most by Wu-Tang members and Nas, has no soul...tired of the same boring shit every damn time. How fucking hard is it to tell this shit doesn't MOVE the soul?!
And the most overrated verse in hip hop history goes to.. NAS! Well done sir, you crafted a verse that was uninspiring, lacking of any substance and still get it to be so acclaimed. Overrated cocksucker.
@KryptonDaVillain your lame...you feel the way you feel cus you only like 19 years old and aint live that real fucking life..so you cant relate to these days!!!! but i do admit you do like kool g rap so u must know a little something....but cmon man biggie was great so was nas...tupac, jay-z and the whole wu tang was great....

Yo I randomly started singing NaS's verse and had to get on youtube and listen. I need to rebuy this album i played this cd to the point it doesn't function lol.
@trudon Premo is dope but alot of his beats sound the same. Kanye West, Just Blaze, MF DOOM, Madlib, J Dilla(RIP), even Premo ALL got elements of RZA in their production. There is NO OTHER producer in hip hop history thats produced classic hip hop albums AND classic movie scores. RZA is the only producer to ever do that.....PERIOD
@bobbywinterz if you think that bullshit, you're dead wrong! Have you EVER heard of J. Dilla ? All respect for RZA! He's a great producer, but J. Dilla is definitely much better!
@1DaKo Did you read my comment??? Of course i know who J Dilla is homeboy, i got the doughnuts CD and everything else he's made before. YES J Dilla is dope. However, alot of his beats have elements of RZA in them. So that means he follows The RZA's train of thought when he produces.
@bobbywinterz Yes, I read it. Have you learned what hip-hop is ? Well, I don't think. "RZA > J. Dilla" ?! Biggest fail ever! Never heard such a bullshit. And I didn't ask you if you know or not who J. Dilla is. Don't be so hard on yourself, son!
This is a classic! Gotta be my fave track eva, was da first track that I wanted to memorize right away after one listen...the nas verse def did it for me

@CantFeelMe Nas's "Deja Vu" was waaaay better. That's where this verse came from. I'm not exaggerating when I say Deja Vu should have been on Illmatic. The Source would have had to give it six and a half mics.
@RelaxednCaIm how was deja vu recorded when he was working on it was written? if it was already recorded and was put on nas' preillmatic?? in 93?? i think 93 is before 97 but im not to sure
@RelaxednCaIm wow ur right lol that doesnt make sense tho cuz it was on preillmatic and wasnt that preillmatic?? maybe preillmatic was like the first version of lost tapes r something.. I also heard that illmatic was going to have alot of the songs from preillmatic, but he lost his book of rhymes and had to start the album over. thats why i thought it was def preillmatic and just got scrapped bcuz he started the album over
@CantFeelMe i agree 90's new york hip hop was the greatest era, had the illest mc's, too many to mention, but wasn't ghostface's verse directed at pac,, he mentions how he got released on bail etc, and also 2pacs bodyguard-frank wrote in his book that 1 wu-tang member got rushed by deathrow staff in vegas, i think it was in club 662, that wu member i found out was in fact ghostface, even though pac clearly mentioned in many interviews in 96' that he wanted wu-tang to sign 2 deathrow

@JesalTV......Nah i wouldn't go that far now! His verse was ill indeed! I would say maybe one of Nas's top 5 or 10 verses of all time? But greatest in history? Your stretching it!
@F4billionyearzag0 you know how it is man, cats are just exited for that real man, golden era cats are hungry for the golden era rap to come back man thats all, dudes just exited.
I couldn't pay niggas in the D to bang this shit after Pac dissed these niggas!!! But this is classic shit! Only built for Cuban Linxx was a top 15 of all-time!
lol gfk dissed pac but pac was the one who gave his chain back, when wu went to cali back in 96. I quess they release this song before that happened. Crazy time this was, i miss it.
Ayo! If you're down with hip hop or ganjah, then peep the vids on my channel & make sure u google "Virginia's 4 Bubblers Mixtape" & download it 4 FREE !!!! Homebaze !
U right about that. When you have this group of mc's, and you overwhelmingly stand out, you know u r great. Nas's verse on "Eye for an Eye" on Mobb Deep's Infamous album was a classic too.
Nas's opening verse easily one of the gulliest lines styll

@RelaxednCaIm wow ur right lol that doesnt make sense tho cuz it was on preillmatic and wasnt that preillmatic?? maybe preillmatic was like the first version of lost tapes r something.. I also heard that illmatic was going to have alot of the songs from preillmatic, but he lost his book of rhymes and had to start the album over. thats why i thought it was def preillmatic and just got scrapped bcuz he started the album over

@CantFeelMe And last of all, it was on Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.

@DonLeoMarin
U right about that. When you have this group of mc's, and you overwhelmingly stand out, you know u r great. Nas's verse on "Eye for an Eye" on Mobb Deep's Infamous album was a classic too.
