Christian in 2005 should have been the next huge face in the making. He went through what every top guy has in the past. He became a heel tha was so hated people loved him and so they had no choice but to turn face. It happened with Hogan, Austin The Rock, and in some senses Kurt Angle and Triple H. But instead they pulled the trigger way too early with Cena and well just look at the result now....

It's a shame. I see John Cena VS Christian in 2005 WWE as being quite a bit like Goldberg VS Chris Jericho in 1998 WCW. The heel's promos attacking the face were great, and could have elevated them to the main event. In both cases, the fans really wanted to see the feud. But in both cases, management balked at the 11th hour and the feud was abruptly ended in favor of matching the face with a more established heel opponent.
