I love Beyonce and all, but when they said in the making of this movie, that: "Beyonce has lived the role of Deena Jones in Destiny's Child and she was born to play it", I couldn't help but feel a little bit skeptic... Michelle Williams would be a much better choice for Deena than Beyonce (and I mean this in a good way), (I feel that Beyonce is much closer to Effie's personality than Deena, which makes her rendition of this role less convincing)

The album is the result of her great voice, and she's a really good singer. But the Sex and the City movie, she had a small part which shows how seriously she's being treated, and those movies of her's coming out is her "people" trying to show that she can be a dramatic actress, and that she has the ability, which she obviously dosen't have.

The problem with this trailer is it failed to show the REAL story behind Dreamgirls. It instead portrayed the movie as another "rise to fame" biopics, but the movie is MORE than that. It's about how goals were put into an end due to fraud and injustice. People needs to stop being prejudicial, just because the title is "DREAMGIRLS" doesn't necessarily connote that this movie is for girls and gay men only.
And the tagline is not really related to the movie.

This was an ok movie. Not the best, not the worst. I know many people will disagree with me, and give me a thumbs down, but Jennifer Hudson did not deserve her Oscar whatsoever. She also didn't deserve any of the other awards she recieved. She sang a powerful song, but her preformance is NOT Oscar worthy. She did no acting, and even when she tries to she fails. She should have just won the Grammy, not an Oscar when there are real actors so much more deserving. Abigail Breslin should have won.

It's not tha she's holding back, its that Beyonce isn't a power ballad belter, like Florence Ballard aka Effie white was..she's got a more refined style like Diana has/had and Jennifer is more of a rougher, soulful old school nina simone type.

The problem with this trailer is it failed to show the REAL story behind Dreamgirls. It instead portrayed the movie as another "rise to fame" biopics, but the movie is MORE than that. It's about how goals were put into an end due to fraud and injustice. People needs to stop being prejudicial, just because the title is "DREAMGIRLS" doesn't necessarily connote that this movie is for girls and gay men only.
And the tagline is not really related to the movie.

This was an ok movie. Not the best, not the worst. I know many people will disagree with me, and give me a thumbs down, but Jennifer Hudson did not deserve her Oscar whatsoever. She also didn't deserve any of the other awards she recieved. She sang a powerful song, but her preformance is NOT Oscar worthy. She did no acting, and even when she tries to she fails. She should have just won the Grammy, not an Oscar when there are real actors so much more deserving. Abigail Breslin should have won.

I'm still waiting for the day that they STOP putting Beyonce in movies. She is a HORRIBLE actress. She can't act. I would have loved to see a real actress in that role. This was supposed be all about Beyonce breaking out. LOL..yep, funny how all the pre movie buzz was about jaime foxx and especially Beyonce, and Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson were the ones who walked off with critical acclaim and Oscar nominations and Jennifer walked off with an Oscar. Kind of ironic that two of the most overlooked were the standouts.

yeah..people seem to forget the point and the plot of dreamgirls..its a tale inspired by teh supremes and Dina is diana and while she was the standout, she didn't have the best voice and everyone knew it. It's not tha she's holding back, its that Beyonce isn't a power ballad belter, like Florence Ballard aka Effie white was..she's got a more refined style like Diana has/had and Jennifer is more of a rougher, soulful old school nina simone type.

Fantasia should've won and she did. When Jennifer Hudson got kicked off A.I she fucked up that night so she got the boot. Okay now she has an Oscar, so does Three Six Mafia and Eminem. well, it wasn't only about the supremes, it was kinda just fueled by them. it was mostly the story of what happens to just about every girl band. one girl becomes the front and eventually someone gets jealous. like, think about TLC and The Pussycat Dolls.
But it's mostly the Supremes story.
