Korean cars are superb! I have had 2 French cars, a German car and a now a Korean car. The Hyundai is by far the better vehicle. My Peugeot had many problems. The Renault Clio was nice but expensive to run. The OPEL was very good indeed but after 4 years needed an expensive part. The Hyundai is reliable, robust and modern and at the same time lacks gimmicks and is reasonable to run too.

They are more expensive to run too, because insurance and road tax are higher. The same problems forced Daihatsu to pull out of the UK. They cant compete with more established and popular cheap car brands here such as Kia, Hyundai, Suzuki etc.

Maybe it's different in the UK and the EU, but here in States, Hyundai/Kia is actually gaining alot of respect ., they've improved thier quality greatly in last decade or so. They're MUCH more reliable than most American,(sorry to say) brands and have caught up with thier Japanese counterparts in reliability! As for the German cars..,VW/Audi has a horiible reputation with quality control and a very bad dealership support.....I'm not sure about BMW or Porche,Mercedes though.
