It's odd, sense of time seems fundamental yet nobody really talks about it (unless you really force them to!). Interesting to hear about the Beatles slowing down. It took me a while to figure out nobody is EXACTLY perfectly timed.
Timing is a tough thing, there's a reason musicians and especially drummers use click tracks and cutting together in the studio, and even with those aids it's still tough to get perfect timing and a truly good drum track.
An example of a perfect drum track could be Metallica's Enter Sandman, that drum track is perfect, but there's no way in hell Lars is ever gonna do it as good live as it sounded on the record.
Getting good time live, is close to impossible, but you should still try!!
I hadn't seen your clip before now; you sparked my curiosity and I went surfing for it. And you were right - your timing WAS good. If you can do what you say you can do, it ain't braggin'!!
I'm more of a tune person than a time person. I die a little inside when I hear someone singing out of tune. But I can also tell when a person is out of time, but staying in tune is more important to me.
I have a friend whose rhythm is way better than mine but my tonality is way better than his, we help each other out sometimes. If one of us is a little off, we correct each other.
I only watched for the swearing

There was certainly no shortage of big-foot jokes when he was on the show.

A lot of people enjoy doing something with their hands when they talk, especially for those that at times need to be sure they don't go too fast.

Great rant. Perfect time and pitch are easy and hard all at once.

If it's good rhythmically/stylistically I don't really care about time- and rhythm isn't necessarily all about perfect timing

Should it be legal to sing out of tune? I think the government should step in and tax it...

If I had a body type like Penn, I'd take much worse care of it. I would never be called to dancing with the stars no matter how popular I was.
I looked up the clip he referred to, and he did fucking awesome. Go check it out.
Screw those douches that made fun of his big feet. How do I shrink my feet pls? -.-'
