I can't say I lived in the distant past, so I don't know whether humans killing humans was something to be seen every day, but judging by the small size of their populations, I doubt they could afford it. Mr. Kaku may be an authority in physics, but he shows basic misunderstandings regarding biology, so he might not be the most appropriate person to define the optimal policy for extra-terrestrial life search.
According to his classification, plants are type II civilizations, given that they directly harness the energy from their mother star through photosynthesis. But photosynthetic organisms have existed on Earth since long before any humans capable of establishing one of those world governments Mr. Kaku claims are required in order to arrive to a type I civilization. If plants have arrived to a type II civilization without a world government, what is this man talking about?

As long as I can remember I've wanted to meet a class 3 civilization. I've seen what a zero is and the only way to continue is to move onto a class 1. So Kaku is in league with the Illuminati. I should have known. They really have their tentacles in every facet of society. But I see his point, civilization has grown from small tribes, to cities, to nations. Pretty soon it will become a global government. On the positive side: no more immigrants. Every human being will be a citizen of the world. Everyone can travel and live and get a job anywhere. It can work, but it will require extraordinary leadership, perhaps beyond human minds.

Don't think about it as something to be opposed, but as an inevitablity. Michio Kaku has some interesting things to say about science but seems very untrustworthy about anything pertaining to possible extraterrestrial contact(He says this basically). His idea that Madona and Arnald basically represent "the planetary culture" is hilarious-very none creative on his part I think. His science interests me though.I consider him suspicious regarding anything pertaining to aliens and government. He feels government are the ones to trust here, before most people it seems.
