Only been a few times, this trip included.

Looks like the place is not faring too well.

  • i love emerald mall :) i always get lost in providence mall_-

  • @scarletgirl2300

    Might hit Providence someday.

  • Wonderful Gauntlet! and if you go into Rhode Island, be sure to see some escalators and elevators at the Providence Place Mall in Providence.

  • @MegaZeldafan1

If I'm ever in that area, perhaps. First visit is just getting what I find.

  • Nice Gauntlet! I also noticed the Montgomery Vector going down (around 18:00 to 18:10) sounds like some Schindler Hydraulics here in Australia - will have to get another video of them

  • @jaymietreadwell

    Glad you enjoyed it.

(I enjoyed it, too. Mall Cop-Free is a big part of it. :P)

  • their parking elevator looks like the Worcester death trap. maybe they didn't which sound to keep. escalators at 36:xx are dirty. looks like a fun gauntlet.

  • @Balarick

It is fun, and there's some variety to the cookie-cutter format.

That Parking Elevator is a Monty, which the Worcester ones are.

(Makes me wonder when the curved garage will reopen, and if the Death Traps will still be there, modded, or still original?)

  • I still can't believe I missed that elevator in JCP, lol.

The LL of the mall is looking really rough too. It's no wonder half of it is vacant. It's literally a hole-in-the-ground and as you pointed out, it feels like one because light doesn't filter down there properly. Interestingly enough, this was built by the same developer as the CambridgeSide Galleria, a wildly successful 3-story mall, as you know. The mall needs some serious help like its estranged brother, Silver City Galleria.

  • @ElevatingBoston

I wonder if the Outlet Mall nearby is killing this one? All they need are more regular stores, and it could be the death note for this mall. Either that, or just the anchors will be left.

  • @georgef551 Providence Place dealt it a huge blow from the south. Patriot Place did as well from the north. Wrentham doesn't help, but it's a different style of shopping.

  • @ElevatingBoston

    Maybe that'll be another trip.

    Who knows, as this point.

Almost went to Twin River this day.

  • @ElevatingBoston your right. light helps people feel comfortable shopping and exploring places. with my vision some light helps. in a remodel they can cut a hole in the second floor.

@georgef551 first elevator looks a bit tired. in some places filming during midday looks safer. filming with my camcorder would be hard. we like scenic elevators and escalators. working bells add to the elevator experience. anchors are so large to make people random. i didn't know you did this mall before.

  • @Balarick

Yes, I have everything from the last trip, in separate videos. I got about 10 requests to "Rock the Gauntlet" here over several months, because of the videos I posted farhter back, and the fact ElevatingBoston is the ony other person who shot here.
