can anyone tell me how to keep my companions alive. They always are dying on me and getting negative conditions even though I put better armour and weapons on them whenever I can. Plus I try to get good skills for them but they are always dying. Please Help!!

Yeah, my part always consists of a Warrior, Shale, a rogue, and a mage

Which on my first playthrough, it was Liliana, Shale, Morrigan, and my Elf Warrior.

On my others, it'd either be...

Human mage, Liliana, Shale/Oghren, Alistar

or

Elf archer, Morrigan/Wynne, Shale/Oghren, Alistar

I played and used the dog, the damned thing was AMAZING.

Just keep pumping up its attack and make sure it gets the 30% physical resistance war paint.

Flame or Cold weapon buff ends up buffing the entire dog and he glows.

Damned thing would win a battle when my other 3 people were dead many a time.

It seems to me the dog would lose its combat effectiveness after a while, not being able to wear armor and all that. Does that little guy have resistance to magic and stuff?

The dog gets its own unique equipment--collars and warpaint.

How you get the dog depends which origin story you're playing. If you're human noble, I don't know if you can skip it or not--but it'd be hard to miss. :0) Anyone else, you could skip it if you were only focusing on main storyline. But it's worth getting one.

yup u can, one of the party members is called "war-dog" and it's a massive hound that will follow you loyaly.

Yes it's one of the quests you make before you fight the blight at the beginning. Dont do it at that point and i dont think you get another chance to get the dog for that character
