may I also point you in the direction of Martin Harley, chocolate jesus video, that I have posted this week, sublime blues interpretation of a Tom Waits song that was never intended to be presented in a blues slide style..steve
@aPROSARMOSTOSMIAZOI not really, but perception of these things is purely a matter of opinion, hendrix, clapton, robert johnson, leadbelly, gallagher, srv,etc etc,, could all be considered as "the best".
The ideaof claiming this to be the best, is to create a starting point for a debate that cannot have a satisfactory result, but we can have great fun arguing and debating this impossibly unquantifiable subject. steve
@bristolsteve69 That it is called the 'best', pretty much puts of any musician worth his salt immediately. Why not just call it what it is and let us decide? The debate happens regardless of what you call it, as a quick glance at youtube will reveal. I hate these cheap ploys to get more hits, it undermines the content. Grow up.
Lucky me. I don't have any expertise with the guitar or any other musical instrument. All I have to do is listen. I don't worry about technique or anything else. If I like it I listen. If I don't like it, I move on. I like some of Walter's music. I can find some of it here. I'm so lucky.
Great playing...seriously well done. My only criticism, and I truly mean this constructively, is that you have a habit of doing a bend on almost every 1 count...yes it's a good spot to do it, but used with restraint it can be more powerful instead of predictable. It's hard for experts to take advice, so please review the solo and you'll see what I mean. Cheers!

Great video ! I made a slideshow using the sound from this recording and didn't realize until now that a video existed from this very concert :) Thanks !
@SCUFFY7 ...wow, I know, so many people think this guy is incredible. Hoenstly, his never ending slef serving soloing bores me to death. It's like listening someone do scales exercises with a backing track. Cliche' ridden..that riff you hear him repeat, is something he does on just about every frikking song. Tone wise...yuk, to trebly, to artificial, barely sounds like what a Strat "should" sound like
I got just as close in Charlotte NC at the Double Door Inn. My family was a guest of Walters at the gig, check out my page to see the video I shot that night. Bear in mind I have a bad back and was to have surgery in a few weeks...

Ich freu mich schon wieder auf das Konzert von Walter am 09.11.2010 in Berlin. Einmal im Jahr ist ein Konzert von Walter Pflicht!

@bluesinduluth Sir!...How far exactly is the required distance?
bristolsteve69 1 year ago
@bluesinduluth which is further than you'll ever get. Why do sad and bitter people broadcast their insecurities for everyone to see?

@bluesinduluth .. experts experts everywhere.... "should" is not a word of any consequence, if it sounds right it is right.
