yea i played this game, it was on ps1. heard rumor it wasn't endorsed by hasbro which had other project at the time and didn't care much about this. pretty much this wasn't very well promoted so a lot people missed out on it.

I have this game too. Is a kind of a "Beat them All" style of game... It's actually a bit frustrating to play because the controls are a bit stiff. But once you get a hold of it it's very funny. Also you'll hate the lack of options... specially if you get killed because you'll have to restart the mission XD

But hey it's nice to see they videos and the way it is narrated, like an old G1 episode... funny thing the dialogue it' in english with japanese subtitles XD

not the best game ever made but it is the best Transformers game to date.

the Armada game was just a pokémon game with robots, transformations where pointless can only pick three Autobots who all three are cars (what?) and no storyline. but the cutscenes even made the ugly Armada Megatron look cool.

the bayformers game was just driving in circles to stay in a ''action bobble'' but it did have cool cgi versions of G1 Prime and Megatron (it works!) and Welker.

I agree this new era transformers cartoons and film to a certain degree should have stayed in line with the g1 american seriesof the 80s, basicly the japones realy dont have a clue on how to write a descent storyline or script, im sure I could have done a better job

''G1'' wasnt just the 80s there are still comics being made today, its odd that the most popular version of Transformers (basically THE Transformers) is just thrown aside like this. G1 (or TF) still has toylines today, and it was even the first animated show to reach the DVD format as seasons sets. its that popular

Oh and in case anyone wonders....Nelson Shin is the producer of Transformers. Hasbro was mainly a toy distributor. They didn't produce any toys, nor did they have animation resources so they licensed toys from Japan and let Shin produce the cartoon in his homeland South-Korea.

It wasn't even called Transformers at first. They called it Microchange. We came up with the name Transformers and the name Optimus Prime. If you ask me it sounds alot better than "Convoy"!

The Japanese stuff isn't really *bad* as much as it feels wrong. The way they act & what they say has too much Japanese overdrama. I like anime ("Irresponsible Captain Tylor" is a personal favorite) & while overdrama works for anime like DBZ and Naruto (which are originally Japanese) it does NOT (absolutely NOT) work for Transformers. It just makes it so silly & I can't tolerate it! The new movie has nothing to do with my feelings on this!! :(

The sad truth is Hasbro never did anything else in their entire existence but write (excellent) stories. The toys were all from Takara (Japan) and the cartoon series were made by Akom (South-Korea). Hasbro bought licenses and wrote stories, but they never designed or made aything...ever.

Transformers toyline came from japan, but thats it. The story is all American. The original comic book from Marvel and the animated series was American. It had a good story line and was better than this unicron trilogy shit. I can't sit for ten minutes watching this anime shit. It gets worse every series. G1 was exelent, Beast Wars was pretty good. Then it all went to Hell. Armada was tolerable, Energon was stupid, and Cybertron, I wouldn't even recomend it to a two year old.

If you don't like it to be anime it's too late because the Transformers series already was anime. That's why it looks so similar to the 80's anime series. It was Korean animation though but at the end of season 3 they switched to a Japanese studio for the Headmasters. Transformers *is* anime. The story is written in the US though until "The Rebirth" (canceled season 4)

The story was American but the animated series was definately not American. It was designed and made by Nelson Shin's South-Korean animation studio Akom. The G1 Transformers all look very anime-style, including the people (Spike Witwicky, etc.). The '86 TF: The Movie was animated in both Japan and South-Korea. Hasbro/America never designed anything for Transformers but they did write the fantastic TF-storyboards.

Before any more people ask about this; this is a Japanese-only game. You want it? Import it. They've made it quite clear its not coming to Western shores. Want to know why?

Simple. Its crap. The controls are rubbish, the levels are bland, and the graphics are in serious need of an upgrade. Overall? Not good. Just because its a game with G1 characters doesn't mean its the best thing ever.
