good job. I don't think Odette Yustman (spelling?) is necessarily better. I should mention that even awesome actors/actresses don't look/sound as good when they're auditioning or performing on the spot. Hollywood magic doesn't just pertain to visual effects... it pertains to every little detail that we don't even think about.

Since Cloverfield was so secretive, the actors didn't read lines from Cloverfield during their own audtions, they actually read from other JJ Abrams projects.

yea shez really good..... Audtions don't look as good because there're no screen effects and the actors don't normally reherse their lines but are given improvisation scripts

they used different scripts for the auditions in order to keep the plot secret even from the actors. thats what jj abrahms does for lost. the actors dont find out what happens until they shoot the episode
