steve carell you continue to amaze me after all these years, every few months i see a video of him or watch an episode of the office and he blows me away.
That was so good! Letterman tried to make a bit of fun but Steve Carrel was up to it. He good on that Fife, and am happy he joined the British side. Figures the Brits. would be better at the history side of things. :) But am impressed with this actor, is more to him than meets the eye. I enjoy Fife and Drum.
What a nice surprise to see the fife being played on a national talk show! Thank you Steve Carell for having the courage to do it. Fifers everywhere were delighted, I'm sure.
LOL... Huzzah! Oh, what a fantastic clip! Someone get him back into the hobby! What a fantastic Fifer he is! Huzzah for Steve Carell! He's a credit to the hobby. Stunned he never had any girlfriends. Pity.
He is playing a song called "7 Stars" by the way. (I'm a drummer in a fife and drum corps.) Very cool, I like him about a million times more than I already did :)
@RingosGirl202 More accurately, it's a "tune" named Moon and the Seven Stars and is originally an English Morris Dance tune. (Celtic/Early music historian and musician).
Steve's Dad is Still a member of the Acton Minutemen, As am I. We could use another good fifer, I wonder if he'd consider coming back now that he is no longer doing "the Office".
@sean100main Bloody hell, I hope so! He's a hell of a Fifer! Need to entice him back into the hobby! 10th Regiment.. oh, dear Lord, now I would LOVE to talk about the 10th Regt and Rev War with him!
@LitterboxStudios LOL... Huzzah! Good things happen when you are a Rev War reenactor. ;) BTW, would love to chat with some folks in the 10th regiment. Curious to know for sure, which companies of the 10th Regiment of Foote fought in the Battle of Camden in South Carolina. Oh, would be nice to have Steve Carell in for that battle! He'd enjoy a fine battle on the actual site.
I was a member ot the 10th (Colonel's company), but left two years before he joined to go in the Navy. Paul O says the regimental records show him serving in the Grenadier Company in 1978 as a fifer. Apparently, he was with the Acton Minutemen before that.

YES! I'm in the 10th. I play drums. My dad carries a musket, and my brother's in it too.
We now know why Steve's so successful. He started in the 10th! Not a bad rendition of The Moon and Seven Stars either...
