  • Thanks Wardfoilo, you are correct. don't let the movies fool you, Steven Seagal is the real deal! Real martial artists know real martial artists!

  • Bruce Lee could whoop that wife beater easily. Aikido ain't shit. It's the Dane Cook of martial arts.

  • is this steven seagal before he goes crazy crazy

  • the cat was not amused

  • bow to your Sensei .. BOW TO YOUR SENSEI !!!!!

  • He doesn't need strength because his opponent weighs a buck ten, not even exaggerating. Don't come with bullshit about how size isn't a factor, they can't find someone of average size??? If Seagal stood and let his apprentice just unload on him with everything he had you think he would be in much pain??? I wrestle with my nephew and ratio of his body size to me is the same as the student to Seagal. He doesn't need to use akido on him, just an outstretched arm. I agree a knife would change things

  • @MrJrodarod On one interview Seagal said: "I'm too tall for aikido". And that's right. It's obvious you don't know much about aikido because small people have a great advantage in aikido. Their techniques work much much better on taller people. The disadvantage of tall people is that they don't need to learn technique properly...unless they meet somebody taller and stronger. And a good sensei should teach aikido to work on everyone!

  • Hey guys, don't misunderstand what i am about to say because i really like seagal, and also i plan to start learning Aikido soon. However i did notice something really disheartening in the video... @ 1.27 seagal is stepping on the opponents clothing to prevent him from getting up as the guy lye's on his back, but seagal says that it is his energy that is holding the guy down. am i seeing it wrong?

  • Dammit, aikido is so beautiful, so fluid. Almost a dance. But a dance that can disarm others pretty well.

  • plus Sega is out of breath in less than a minute, and says he's not using energy?

  • @rlepola He says he is using engery. He says he is not using strength.

  • poor uke

  • Man, I've been doing Taekwondo for 14 years of my life...but two years ago I left my dojang and though I practice on my own, I've really had the desire to add the techniques of other Martial Art styles to my own. Not to become more "complete"...but the knowledge, the experience, the embracement of Martial Arts as a whole. Unfortunately, the Aikido Club at my university closed down about a year ago...and I didn't find that it even existed until last week. :(

  • very good Budo right there...

  • really? you people can't tell this is fake? The guy is submitting before he's even touched and submitting even after he's been let go. he's pretty good for a fake martial arts actor tho.

  • @zer0dahero This is for demonstration purposes.... if it's such a joke I'd love to see you in there for about 2 seconds.

  • @zer0dahero I bet your punk ass would not have fought him you retard and he is a 7th degree black you stupid shit.

  • Some good techniques, but I am skeptical of "Ki". I have seen similar techniques with same speed done who's philosophies rely on provable sciences. Including the pinky thing, you can do a lot of crazy shit with the right levrage. Not dissing Steven (I don't want to fight him!), just the whole internal energy thing.

  • well all i can say is if you tryed maken a move at steven he would propably wip your ass like that little guy

  • I'm not a Seagal fan and don't agree with all of his politics, But I do HIGHLY respect him as a martial artist. I myself have been practicing JKD for 18 years and I now teach it. And am 32 years old. And any real martial artist (not web warriors) know that Seagal is not to be fucked with. I swear, Ever since the internet came, young people have so much wikipedia knowledge but haven't really lived a single day to truly know anything. Just arrogant opinions.

  • @Wardfolio i fart in the face of your father.

  • @Wardfolio I have very similar feelings, I was a fan back in the 90's, and still respect him as a martial artist. I still remember when I watched one of his movie with my friend (also a martial art practitioner), we said he had the best front kick on screen, it looked like it was going to penetrate the opponent. And now the kids only praise MMA fighters, yet Mr Seagal helped two incerdible fighters perfect their front kick. If someone still says Seagal doesn't know crap, that's BS.

  • @Wardfolio did you see him spar with anderson silva??? the man is out of shape but he still has that speed.

  • Think I'm the only one that likes Aikido and MMA...

  • Mr. Seagal should not have been distracted by the Hollywood.

He has good technique and understands how to present.

You see, he has interesting physique for Aikido, I would have enjoyed

manipulating his joints and throwing him.

  • aikido does what its meant to do, bas rutten is a loud mouth show off prick who thinks hes hot shit so he had some fights ok well done him, that does not give him the right to insult a martial art he doesnt do and will never do because his ego and arrogance come first with him and his jealousy of seagal, rutten is a pathetic man and hes disrespectful to seagal and aikido, not a good role model at all people, MMA is breeding disrespectful arrogant fools like you mrjrodarod its sad.

  • you talk about seagal being arrogant yet here you all are keyboard warriors saying seagal aint shit, have you seen seagal in a real fight? no because hes famous people know not to fuck with him, if however he wasnt famous and he did this to a guy who didnt know any martial arts or how to land you can imagine what he could do right, he would throw him around like a ragdoll and break limbs not saying thats what aikido is for, but aikido is effective and it works for what it was developed for

  • @Brady2k10 i agree, they all talk about segal like hes a pussy, do they remember that at 17 yrs old he was the youngest westerner to gain shodan in japan, now the ppl of japan take there martial arts very seriously pple who mock him also mock japans martial structure, if u do martial arts u dont mock if u mock u watch tv.

  • you MMA retards go on about how seagal cant do shit, its a shame you lot miss the true value of martial arts, respect, discipline and not wanting to smash someone face in for money and some stupid belt, those fighters in UFC are not the best fighters around you do realise this right? and they are all arrogant, thats all MMA does, it brings out arrogance "im better than him i do more training, im tougher than he is, i deserve this blah blah" they are jealous of seagals success and his 7th dan

  • @Brady2k10 and Gene LeBell chocked Seagal until he passed out and crapped his pants. LOL

  • @niteholler thats bullshit, if you like believing what angry retards make up thats fine with me

  • @niteholler I remember that,,but as you can see they'er a lot of Idol worshiping going on here,So if you made them angry, more power to you...

  • you say aikido doesnt work in a real fight, you're wrong. If this went to grappling all seagal would have to do is take a wrist or an arm or whatever, apply pain and the fight is over or the other guy gets something broken, seagal has a 7th dan black belt for a reason, hes been doing martial arts longer than these MMA guys, do not compare seagal to an MMA fighter, aikido is a SELF DEFENCE MARTIAL ART meaning you only use it when attacked on the street or your life is in danger

  • you lot go on about seagal bein arrogant if you want arrogance just watch MMA and bas rutten blab on about how hes been in so many street fights blah blah blah, aikido is a real martial art and its beautiful in its own way, aikido is not so effective in MMA because you study your opponents fighting style, and seeing as aikido relies on the element of surprise and the opponents movement, it doesnt work so well in MMA but thats fine, aikido was here first and it does what its meant to do

  • wow he's beating up a 12 year old girl

  • yikes hes a bad mother fucker no matter what anyone says.

  • I think he is now using aikido to protect the border. I guess it was the most ecomic thing to fo.

  • I love Steven Seagal. He is a 7th Dan in Akido and very pratical in his teachings.Look for his story and dojo on Youtube. No Gimmicks only hard training.

  • Steven's skill and charisma in their unadulterated form.

  • All those people who disliked this video were looking for something "moist and delicious".

  • REEEEEE TRUCHO ESTE NO LE PUEDE GANAR NI UN CINTURON ROSA A ESTE SOLO LO SIGUEN LOS DEBILUCHOS LOS QUE NO HACEN NADA LOS QUE DICEN QUE ENTRAN VAN 20 MINUTOS A ALGUN GYM Y SE VAN DESPUES DICEN ( HOY ENTRENE ! ) JAJAJAJA

  • commitment and focus very cool instructions!

  • Funny how all the tuff online gangsters talk

  • and now he is a rapist fat ass racist cop

  • Lord Steven your out of breath within 30secs lmao you were in such great shape and your not even moving!

  • Do not fuck with Steven! :D

  • @izidorka I also suspect that you learned Karate before Aikido, which means that you must first recover and recondition your body before you can truly analyze the true effect of energy in Aikido. I don't know for sure but I would doubt that your body had been prepared in as short a time as 3 years (But it is possible with proper nutrients, massage, chiropractic, acupoint therapy, and meditation. It is just very circumstantial on knowing the right people and your own dedication.)

  • @izidorka OK, I saw it again and you where right that his TOES were on there, and for that I apologize. However, I don't think that you should cheapen that because it is still a person's whole body against one foot's toes... that having been said there is something more there and if you haven't heard of "Aiki Ken no Kada" (not sure about the spelling) then what you truly know of Aikido is still very minimal. My master really could do stuff like that, and by only barely touching you.

  • @Nuetral768 what's the trick?

  • Let us also not forget that O'Sensei was only about 5 feet tall, and much more capable than Seagal ever was. It isn't size or strength that matters. Chi gives us the ability to manipulate gravity, from Tai Chi's raising of the hands, to the Wudang monks floating off the ground, to rooting techniques used in Tai Chi where a master becomes literally un-moveable, to the grounding technique demonstrated here. First and foremost the internal arts are designed to teach us "The Way of Harmony" TPBT.

  • Comment removed

  • @Nuetral768 Seagal's "chi" failed him when Gene Lebell choked him out until he shit his XXL pants.

  • 1:25 :-) he steps on his kimono...there is the energy lol

  • sorry for all the comments but let's not forget morihei ueshiba founded aikido for the purpose of self defence only as there are no attack moves in aikido at all an aikido student or master would only be able to effectively use a technique if they were attacked first.

  • Comment removed

  • in my opinion people who slag off any martial artist, martial arts only do so because they accually don't have any understanding of the martial art or the martial artist his/herself

  • it's just a demonstration, i myself am a aikido practitioner and many people say this defence art is staged. i can tell you that it's not. i myself have been in a situation where someone has threatened me with a knife and i used the same technique as shihan seagal is using here and it's pretty much saved my life. shihan steven seagal is great, he's the only westerner to achieve the masters rank in aikido, and the only Foreigner to date to be allowed to teach in japan.

  • I'd like to see this bs against a UFC fighter

  • In aikido it is not a disadvantage to be small.

  • Say what you will. He helped bring martial arts to the masses. Those were good days.

  • So awesome!

  • I suppose he is challenged by the fact that he is 6'4?

  • Seagal makes it look easy--a measure of skill level in any pursuit. I believe were he to utilize these techniques in a combat situation, the demo would be over immediately.

  • Seagal has a squeaky voice.

  • seems to be alot of unwanted sperm cells on this video lol bunch of wussies

  • @solpapisolmook if you followed his movies you would know he fixed his cardio problem. he never gets tired after chase scenes

  • @jessesam That's because he gets doubled in every scene that requires the slightest physical effort (because he's so fat and out of shape). Why do you follow the career of a man who doesn't give a shit enough about his fans to at least stay within 200lbs? Fucking chump

  • Aikido is great, unless your looking to outwardly hurt another, then you might want to learn Kickboxing/Ninjitsu.

Its always hilarious hearing people slag Aikido off, they barely comprehend the concept, let alone the practicality. :)

  • @christoiwas The kimura or double wrist lock and the arm bar as well as other joint submission techniques of the shoulders, wrist and elbow are all found in Aikido and are used quite effectively in MMA by those who understand them. Just watch some videos by Sakuraba. People can get hurt in Aikido if the person continues to twist an arm, shoulder or wrist to the point of dislocation.

  • @Haseeb2 I'm not saying you can't hurt others using Aikido, I'm trying to say that once you understand Aikido the concept of hurting another is not even an option...

Disarm your attackers intent, whether it be through words or actions.

  • @christoiwas I agree.

  • @814gt give a guy from south east la a knife and he will sell it for crack.. people from LA are somehow tough? why? because they can't graduate from school or because they inevitably end up in prison for robbing old women? somehow an inner city loser is tough is an mtv rap myth..tough means i saw you killing jihadists with me the last 20yrs...car jacking a single mom that works to support her 3 kids is not tough!

  • But you are fighting children! Jerry, we are all at the same skill level.

  • why isnt ther aikido fighters in mma. Because it sucks. they would manke big bucks but they dont.

  • is it a guy from 12 years old

  • lol who needs martial arts to kick a midget's ass?

  • is there any videos of steven fighting someone other than a kid? i aint been able to find any, tell me if anyone does.

  • MJOTA NIM JAK SZATAN!!

  • Well, everyone who tried aikido, and I do NOT mean for one lesson, but at least for an year, knows, what is the true meaning and the real idea of it. And it was Bruce Lee himself, that has put Hapkido (mixture of Aikido- and Tae Kwon Do-Techniques) at the MOST EFFECTIVE ART OF FIGHTING, right after his own idea of fighting (Jeet Kune Do). So all the people, laughing at the demonstrations of Aikido, just do not know the truth!!!

  • Awesome demonstration.

  • By the way, I have the proof that Seagal hadn´t been choked out by Gene LeBell on the set of "Out for Justice".

Diana Lee Inosanto(her father Daniel played "Sticks" in the movie) said "there was only a verbal confrontation but no fight at all. She said all the rumors are false and that people exaggerating things.

You can listen to her video on "Asians in films.com-part 2-minute 1:50!!!!!!

  • As far as his claims about special forces and the rest, I'm not convinced. But Dan Inosanto said his moves are for real, and that's good enough for me. Also, he was there with James Coburn, who trained with Bruce Lee for years and probably isn't easily fooled. I think he probably just threw the CIA covert ops stuff in there to add a bit of mystery. Dumb; but he wouldn't be the first "actor" to do something like that. (Maybe celebrity would be a better word than actor) ;-)

  • A good uki will always make you look good!

  • Comment removed

  • Imagine Seagal against either Klitchko. Seagull would beat withen seconds. The adoration given to these TV "fighters" is mislead. Stop with the mystical bullshit and realize that in the real world speed and strength trump fake demonstrations.

  • @smehlik I wouldnt say that, what he is trying to show is the bases for aikido, using technique and key placement to be able to fight someone who is possibly stronger than you. Yes I would aggree when someone is extremely larger than you this would be become more difficult but in general aikido is very useful. Though he seems a T.V fighter I would not count him out as someone who would be easily beaten. And aikido demos can look fake untill you have experianced it.

    Cheers

  • @Jimmyskydive in my experience aikido is even more effective on someone who is alot taller and bigger built than the average person. if you look at it from the purpose of which aikido was founded you will see that if someone lets say 14st and 6ft running toward you, using just a basic technique you would accually have alot more ease bringing the attacker in to a throw or straight to the floor.

  • @18danielmiles Hi thankyou I appreciate your feedback. :D

  • @Jimmyskydive your very welcome :).

  • @Jimmyskydive Yes i agree - Yet some aikido techniques can be more difficult to apply with really strong opponents. But In general the Techniques are Techniques not relying on brute force, but on the power of the hips, the timing etc. And Aikido does provide good basics and other techniques can easily be applied if that should be needed. (This was more for MrJrodarod actually) You already said it ;)

  • @Jimmyskydive Funny that. My friend scott was a pretty decent at aikido, i can't remember what he was, but he'd done it for about 10 years.

I practise Jiu Jitsu, the original japanese one. He tried to use a goose lock or grip or something on my hand, all i had to do was not resist the throw, fall with it and then stand straight back up and hip toss him to the floor, where i then put him in an armbar.

    How does aikido work?

  • @smehlik very true..

try twisting the wrist of a 90 kg man,not just the ones of 45 kg thai sheboys , and see how that works..

  • Now I can defend myself from anyone who's 1/4th my size!

    Thank you Steven Seagal!

  • @MrJrodarod you know size is irrelevant, don't you? if little prick has a knife, it doesn't matter if he's a midget

  • @MrJrodarod he's a big dude. Hard to find someone his size with ability and skill to demonstrate on. Looks like the real deal.

  • @MrJrodarod Oh yeah because we all know it's a proven fact that the biggest guy always wins and smaller guys just can't fight. Good one.

  • @MrJrodarod stupid boy, its a shame you all miss the point, aikido was never developed for MMA, aikido is the ultimate self defence martial art, take karate for example, they'd have you punch the other guys face or kick him whatever, aikido would have you apply pain for a short time making the enemy submit, a much better outcome, aikido was never developed for MMA, can you imagine what seagal could do do a guy who didnt know any martial art

  • @Brady2k10 why do you have such an urge to defend Steven Seagal is he your sensei?

I can't believe the amount of raging reply's I got from this comment. I don't doubt Steven Seagal's ability, I don't have any experience in kung pow. I like watching Seagal for his wonderful cheesy-ness. I don't think I'm an expert, I think I pointed out something that was funny. I would think an incredibly intelligent, and badass Akido MASTER like Brady2k10 would recognize sarcasm, and have some mental fortitude.

  • @MrJrodarod you know you're right... i am a bad ass

  • Comment removed

  • very good up close look at aikido

  • slim and trim again my ass... L0L

  • Poor Uke!!

  • A great uki

  • seagal always use smaller people to do his flashy fake take downs because smaller guys can manover around better...a bigger guy would not fall in a way to make the show interesting. Also this baby finger theory is a joke hes actually using his whole joint on his hand to block the pressure but if any person in the right mind would push at a 45 degree upward, they would have broken his smelly shitty finger.

  • @o0Sp3cia1K0o The guy is a 7th degree black belt in Aikido. He isn't a bitch.

  • @jrwaneurysm theres a different between a 7th degree black belt trained by a high calibur martial artist who fights real opponents and dosent do rigged shows to manipulate people on believing hes a force of recognition and theres steven seagal

  • @o0Sp3cia1K0o There's a difference between commercial airplane pilots and those that fly single engine planes but both are still pilots. Aikido is a form of martial arts regardless of its popularity or usefulness. It is legit and if you know what you're doing will never have to throw a punch. Obviously in this clip everything is simulated. It's also a television show. There are other clips that are more realistic. There is a way to tell when he does something legit or not.

  • Seagal is 6-4 and that kid is 5-2. What the fuck are you talking about this "size doesnt matter" bs. In schools they say that so short guys wont get offended. The taller you are, the more fights you win and more chicks you get.

    Seagal is an idiot btw.

  • @BlackenedForLife trust me size is irrelevant its what you do with it that maters, i am 5'11 i spent years on the 1st recon team and was squad leader of the anti terrorist assault team i was trained on hand to hand combat in 4 different martial arts when i left the army i was proper riped up in muscle strenght and knowledge of how to handle myself, so i went for a job as a night club one of the guys in there was 5' skiny little ass one day as a joke i pushed him he sweept the floor with me

  • @BlackenedForLife truth is aikido is all about inner peace and calm there is a vicious cycle in it it goes abit like this, calm brings peace, peace brings focus, focus brings technique, technique brings deadly force, the more relaxed you are while doing aikido the better it becomes.... truth to the fact and im a bloke so this is hard to admit women are better at aikido than men due to the fact that they are smaller and have less strength then they need to use techniques correctly

  • @BlackenedForLife so before you come out here dissing things look into the facts or even try and enter an aikido dojo and kick the smallest person in there into the ground and see how much of an ass whooping you will get before you can even have time to blink, aikido is a pure self defence martial art

  • @snipper1980

I apologize. But I`ve never seen mr. Seagal fight people of his own size. And by "fight" I mean do demonstrations. He is a known bully and a delusional douchebag.

    But I appreciate your posts.

  • @BlackenedForLife to be fair he is 6''4 and is taller than most people. also a lot of these demos are in japan and they are smaller people in general. you read to much into this!

  • Somewhere along the lines, Seagal morphed into a douchebag, but I respect his Aikido prowess and appreciate his movies.

  • i dont get it.... seagal here looks like almost bald... and now he has more hair ?!

  • @porcosdep Hair Transplant.

  • I wonder if his tecnics work with people with his same size, I didn´t see him like this video in exit wound with the singer dmx. Or how about with gene lebell, do you remember?

This sir is a well example of wrong things in martial arts.

  • @reneric0 If his uke/fall guy were his size that larger person almost certainly wouldn't be able to move as quickly & lightly as the smaller fellow seen here. A larger guy would be hurt more in a demo like this simply because he wouldn't be able to keep up speedwise. By the way, the little guy seen here is Haruo Matsuoka who has gone on to become a respected aikido sensei himself. As for the Judo Gene LeBell story, don't believe everything you hear. That was a demonstration, not a fight.

  • Hah he said he was on a diet xD

  • Shocking actor and 99% his movies are crap. However he is the real deal in the 80s 90s he was very respected in Japanese martial arts circles in japan very hard to achieve if your non Japanese

  • I swear most of his demonstrations are on kids or men half his size!

  • "One moist and delicious meal in every can." hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • This little asian looks like his toy or slave ...

  • "I don't use strenght, I don't need strenght." That's Aikido

  • I'd like to see Seagal try his ch'i trickery on Gene Lebell. Oh yeah, he did, and woke up 20 minutes later.

  • じゃ包丁持ってきてww

  • SETEVEN SEGAL FİLİMLERİNDE SADECE AİKİDO YAPSIN. (ŞİŞİRİLMİŞ HALAK KAHRAMANI TİPLEMELERİNDEN VAZGEÇSİN) LÜTFEN...

  • The best actor is the little kid going with his moves there! Why doesn't Mr. Seagull join WWE?

  • this is all choreographed, its easy to do all this shit when the guy is not trying to hit you and throwing slow demo punches, not with a maniac on the street.

  • i wonder when he had a hair transplant

  • @turboMATRIX03 I think sometime after 1988.

  • Pick on someone your own size!

  • the people he is always doing this shit to are much smaller people? nobody noticed that?

  • @mickyquin well there's lots of aikido videos out there were they do it with bigger people...it's just physics/leverage. like maksim55669 said. personally I did TKD in high school...haven't done any martial arts since...but aikido looks pretty awesome to me :)

  • "steve seagul" at the end there lol , great to see these early clips of him

  • I used to practice with Master chun lee who is an expert in Hapkido...it's very much like this. this is demonstration only...in real life you could break a person's wrist or elbow...it's pretty amazing art. I never got beyond the basic stuff.

  • I have a 1$ bill Merv Griffin personally gave to me at a Wheel of Fortune taping during a commercial break in which he would interact with the audience. Thanks bud, R.I.P.

  • uhh....LIKE

  • who's the uke...he is good!

  • karate isnt like judo or jitsu not just talking about the striking vs grappling but to get your next belt you simply do a kata...meaning that wanker BS you see on the vid...aikido is cool though....in theory because out of kata a lot of those skills are illegal so...no real way to test your self against other martial artists...its all performance moves...like Chinese Kung Fu opera like Jackie chan did. And the big question is why is Segal allowed to abuse that child?

  • Mr. Seagal may not be using his strength, but he is out of breath, and his breathing is very high.

  • Such a bullshit demonstration. His opponent is a dwarf!

"My energy is keeping him down" what a load of bollox!!!

Chuck norris was World Champion 6 times in a row.....beat that seagal!

  • Ip Man in his prime would have wrecked this fool

  • Always wondered if Segal could actually do it, thank you for uploading.

  • everybody says steven seagal can kick chuck norris ass, o.k...but at least chuck norris does'nt wear a dress to fight

  • I WANNA FIGHT CHUCK NORRIS RIGHT NOW!!!

  • Seagal needs a new diet.

  • His opponents are always shorter than him!!!!!!!

  • ...couple of things in slow motion and then he beats hell outta him xD

  • ultimate diet! XD

  • are you kidding me? SO YOUNG!

  • fancy feast :)

  • "I'm on a diet. I'm trying to get slim and trim and again." How'd that work out for you Steve?

  • It's hard to compare martial arts and their effectiveness against another martial art. For instance, you can find Taekwondo v. Muai Thai videos on here where TKD is stronger, and others where MT is stronger. But the truth is that a master of any martial art would likely destroy any average person, unless they were holding a gun. That includes loudmouths that talk shit to compensate. And with close quarters martial arts like Wing Chun, Krav Maga, and Aikido, a gun might not even help them.

  • @ofan07

    Troll alert

  • regardless of fake or not, segal would still be able to defend against average brainless criminal

  • thats a person with 30 kg,i can turn him like that

  • seagal... your a shit fighter... dont know why they even say you can fight.. akido is fake and you only fight little kids. go and die you fake peice of shit! have not seen you win any real fights in the ring yet mate.

  • @ofan07 Aikido used in demonstrations has the cooperation of the person taking the falls. This isn't because the techniques don't work, but because using these techniques in real situations is dangerous and ugly, and usually results in someone getting something broken. A lot of people think it's fake because of that cooperation, but it's just there to help demonstrate the technical side in a safe, easy to understand manner

  • Did Seagal lose his smiling sense this night ?

  • Steve Seagal lol

  • Child abuse !

  • tht kid can take mad shit lmao

  • im just a cook, im just a plumber, steven seagal is THE REPAIRMAN

  • How about all u haters that don't know billy Jack bullshit about ANY martial arts just shut up. If you've done REAL Aikido before and still think its BS then it can be up for discussion.

  • @DratikASinceel Well put.
