Omg omg i get it. Math is actually helpful. Guys, basically, you just have to think Line and Space instead of thinking of the letters. When she said third, it was because the current note is a line, then the next note is another line. So, i would suggest maybe think of Odd and Even numbers. Odd for Line, and Even for Space. Man, i'm so happy i could learn this stuff so quickly. ;D

@phionahchin2000 If you're a Beginner and you only want to play some simple songs, I'd agree, but the only thing that would actually keep someone playing is learning the whole "Music Theory" and about Scales, it won't teach you how to play or Read, only show you where to put your Fingers.

I've only just recently gotten mine, but it's music, if you can't play well, you're not going to stick to it. Plus, learning the Scales and such, you won't only play, but be able to compose your own.

Guys, when she says 'third' or 'minor third' it's because every line that you "walk" is a entire note so, goes two keys to the right(if it's going up in the sheet) or two keys to the left(if it's going down in the sheet). If you walk from a line to a space is half note so, one key to the left or the right.

Not bad. If you don't understand it, you should look up a little more basic music theory before working on reading sheet music. First understand how scales and chords work, then learn intervals, and stuff like this will be easy.

E is the third key in an octave. An octave is the group of keys from C to B. You will find the C by orientating with the help of the black notes. C is found on just to the left of the two black notes.

Not to be rude, but this wasn't thorough at all. A more helpful teaching method would be to show us what the actual notes MEAN on the sheet music, like if a note is on this line it's a C or G and so forth... to someone who is trying to learn how to read sheet music, those notes don't mean a thing until you explain which notes they actual are, in which case, you didn't.
