Not really - I use 1GB cards (2GB ones aren't reliable in this camera) and because the camera records in MPEG-1 rather than MJPEG-AVI, they only take up about 45MB per minute at 640x480.

Technically...
That's because the time constant of the microphone AGC is too short, so it acts as a compressor/limiter instead at low bass frequencies.
They make them like that to get better performance on voices.
I know what I need to do to the camera to cure that, but if I take it apart it might not work ever again!
