  • They look really cool.

  • MY dad had an airedale, he said it was one of the best dogs he ever had.

  • @KingWi11 same with my dad

  • im gettin mine in 8 weeks because its a puppy and its gotta stay with his mommy for that long

  • Our Airedale (RIP, Flash) was smart smart smart. She would pick up a new command in just a few tries. She DID bore quickly, and just wouldnt do the same trick over and over.

She was also the toughest dog I've ever had, the heavyweight champ of our neighborhood. Great dogs, ready to play at the drop of a hat.

Be warned, some do not do well with other dogs (or any 4 legged creature).

  • these dogs are soooooooo adorable, i love their fur. :3

  • i like how these dogs are always on movies :D love em.

  • I have a question, are these dogs good with cats?? If I were to get the dog from a puppy?

  • @DKHerper If the puppy grows up with the kitten there will be a better chance they will tolerate each other. If not its kind of like intruding on the others territory

  • I was have airedale terier , she was 12,5 years when she died it was more then dog was a person better than a some people ... Best friend ever , never let you down with high temperament ... All best about this breed , want to buy a new one airedale but cannot find right now ... R.I.P , tessa :) All best from SERBIA

  • I have a question, what are the life spans of airedales?

  • @Rukia91554 Ten years is the normal life span of an airedale, after that there are quite a few joint problems mostly with the hips.

  • @Rukia91554 They live pretty long lives. My Airedale Samson turned 12 in November and he's still going strong. So I would guess 14-15 years or so.

  • My airedale is the best freind that i will ever have

  • I had a very difficult childhood/adolescence. What kept me from running away or commiting suicide was the fact that I had an Airedale Terrier who loved me and depended on me. My Airedale was my savior, my guardian angel and my best buddy. There is no other breed for me.

  • my airedale was the best thing that ever happened to me. i miss him.

  • I find it interesting Airedales were used in war. My airedale is easily scared and shy but silly. Not very military like at all! xD

  • @imkohia Because what was true back then doesn't have to be true today. Whenever a breeder says that the dogs were like this and that, especially in a manner like in the video, I have my doubts whether the respective dog-lines are actually still capable of that or even were back then as they are described today, e.g. I have my doubts about the coat.

  • They really are VERY smart and learn quick

I mean really I taught my 5 year old Airedale Terrier how to high-five with me in less then 10 minutes

  • @jvn3030 Disgusting? annoying? I have one of these dogs and he is one of the best friends I have EVER had in my life so far. You seriously underestimate this breed if you're saying shit like that. So before you go running your mouth like that, how about you do your homework a little bit better and actually LEARN something? asshole

  • @BigM161 Ok well im sorry but i know about these dogs, i was just at someones house who has one. I still stand by my opinion that they are disgusting and hideous animals, the facial hair they have looks like a mixture between being burnt and dunked in sewer water. Not only that its personality is terrible and annoys me like no other breed ive encountered, Im sorry thats my opinion, im sorry u got so offended that i made fun of a dog that looks like roadkill

  • @jvn3030 you disgust me.

  • @jvn3030 Wow, you know someone who owns one and that makes you an expert Lol! I've owned Airedales most of my life as well as other breeds as well as mixes and can tell from your statement that you have no clue about this breed. Do you or have you ever owned, bred or trained dogs? For one, there is no bad breed. 2, Airedales have some of the biggest personality's ever, although you can have the odd one a little too hyper or too serious. Dont judge the breed by one dog as it could be the runt.

  • @BigM161 also you do realize the whole point of this video is to teach people about the breed they show right, so a normal person would deduce that since I watched it I got a sweet 4 min lesson on this "great" dog. However i'd assume your not normal because 1st off you freaked out for no reason, and secondly one of your best friends ever was one of these disgusting animals that only "likes" you cause you feed it

  • @jvn3030 You're in wrong video cryin'. To me dog needs to have personality, temperament and beard - that's airedale right there ! I'm sorry if that someone has an airedale that annoys you but you cannot judge the breed on the basis of an individual. How did the saying go: Dog - man's best friend. Now could you please shut up. Btw do you find other terriers with beard too terrible ?

  • @jvn3030 i did NOT freak out for no reason at all, because I actually KNOW what these breeds are like by experiencing it firsthand. also not once did I ever feed this comment, those are people who agree with me on what I say. and I am a normal guy, who is obviously a LOT smarter than your DUMBASS. so until you have firsthand experience with this breed, why you don't you just SHUT THE FUCK UP

  • @BigM161 haha wow you are such an internet badass. I mean you must be smarter then me cause your best friend is one of these things and i guess you cant read because I mentioned how i had first hand experience with them and thats why i think they are terrible. You dont have to freak out just cause i think these are horrendous creatures that are annoying/ugly. Can you also explain how you didnt feed this comment, i received and email from you responding to my comment so your wrong again...nice

  • @jvn3030 i'll finish this off then...you are one of the most arrogant asses I have ever encountered, for your lack of perspective. so i'll just say have a nice life, and fuck off

  • @BigM161 thanks for the nice wishes I really appreciate them

  • @jvn3030 you meet one dog, and you think the entire breed is a menace? That tells me a lot about your personality. The owner of the dog probably didn't know how to properly handle or groom it. Don't blame the breed for a crappy owner. Take your offensive opinions else where, you'd freak out if someone called your pet an ugly, burnt sewer rat.

  • @jvn3030 Man, Life is merrier with an airedale terrier - enough said.

  • @jvn3030 shut your mother fucking ass up

dont go judging animals you piece of crap wjo has nothing better to do in its life

have you even had a dog

if you havent you seriously are missing out

    faggot XP

  • Military used Airedales in Vietnam as their killing dogs and German Sheppard's as scout dogs. Airedales can be "VICIOUS" killers but are very loyal and extremely smart dogs ...all terriers are!

  • What they said at the end is SO true- I had a very smart, extremely well behaved airedale terrier, and she just died on Wednesday. She wass more than a best friend, she was a part of the family.

  • @imperfectme125 i sympathize with you. on may 10th, i watched from a tree as my golden retriever was hit by a slow-moving truck in our neighborhood. not many cars come in my neighbor. and it was my electrician. he had blunt trauma to the head. it was the most helpless feeling i ever experienced. he was 9, i picked him out, he was and still is my best friend and he was part of the family. some people just don't get it. "at least it wasn't a person" they say. they don't understand. i'm so sorry.

  • @awesomeinuyashagirl I'm so sorry for you too. I also picked out my dog when I was 5. We're you watching this video because you're considering an airedale as your next dog?

  • @imperfectme125 yes. i actually had a dream that i came home and my mom got a white airedale as my next dog. it surprised me in my dream because she doesn't seem to ever want another dog. i've also only seen an airedale once or twice in a picture or on an ornamant so i decided to look them up. i think i'd like to get an airedale as my next dog when i get older. i don't think i'll be able to get one in the 2 years before i graduate. i also think that getting another dog might help us cope

  • @awesomeinuyashagirl A white airedale? Haha, they don't come in white. They really are great dogs. I do think another dog would help the coping though.

  • @imperfectme125 Yeah that's what I thought. They seem to have a great disposition. :)

  • @awesomeinuyashagirl They are wonderful beyond words.

  • @imperfectme125 i bet they are. so are goldens too, if u ever consider getting one

  • @awesomeinuyashagirl I have heard that, but I think I'd consider a pug for my next dog.

  • @imperfectme125 pugs are nice too. and really cute.

  • @awesomeinuyashagirl OMG yes lol.

  • @imperfectme125 haha i know right? my friend has a pug they named after winston churchhill because he looked like him :)

  • @awesomeinuyashagirl Haha. If I get a pug, I want to name it Otis from Milo and Otis, but my parents say they don't want a boy, so I'm thinking Jersey or Biscuit for a girl.

  • @imperfectme125 Those are nice names. I remember when we were picking out our dog I wanted a girl, but my parents wanted a boy. Well, I don't know what gender I'd want my airedale to be, but if it were a boy, I'd think I'd name it Phoebus, because I was watching Lon Chaney's Hunchback of Notre Dame with my friend and we kept saying Phoebus was a funny name. We also liked the goat in that movie. So that's the only name I've thought of right now. :)

  • @awesomeinuyashagirl Haha that's cute. I also think Sienna is a nice name. I was just reading your first comment to me, and my dog was nine too.

  • @imperfectme125 Sienna's a lovely name. And I guess we have a lot in common with our dogs. I'm not replacing my dog by wanting another dog. In a way, I am, but not really, if you know what I mean. I can't explain it. Dogs are different than people in society.

  • @awesomeinuyashagirl Yeah. it's not replacing, it's just filling the void and keeping that special type of loving in your household.

  • @imperfectme125 Exactly. And it is a fact of life that all creatures die, just wish animals or people would die of old age and not a disease or accident. But yes, a dog or a cat can connect with you like no person can. And they usually don't talk back :)

  • @awesomeinuyashagirl But you can talk back for them :)

  • @imperfectme125 Yea definitely :) And stand up for them if you need too.

  • @awesomeinuyashagirl Heck yes.

  • I was in central park yesterday and we saw one of our teacher with his airedale. It sooo cute!!! it's coat was so curly and golden and soft! and it would stand on all fours then sit and lay down then get up again as we were talking to our teacher

  • My Airedale used to snatch food off the counter, especially my little brother and his pizza when I was younger. He died young in a freak accident, and it's been seven years....I want another Airedale, but I want one with another breed as well, probably another Terrier breed....Terriers are the best breeds to me!

  • He reminds me of Tramp from Lady and the Tramp.

  • They are very cute! <3

  • i have an airedale puppy named Bodie

  • ooh, my heighbour has about 8 airedales.. one thing this vid didn't mention was their incredibly loud howl. you haven't lived until you've heard 8 airedales, two saluki pups, a cockapin, a fox terrier, a jack russell and an akita all trying to sing along to ice cream van music. don't even get me started on what it's like at 2 a.m.(minus the ice cream van).

  • Yes and Cavaliers are the 'The Queen' of the toy group.

  • A breed i Admire!

  • oh airedales..i see at least a dozen everyday on the streets..theyre very popular in my neighborhood :) cute tho, they remind me teddy bears

  • I swear I've probably watched this video like 50 times, I love my Airedale Terrier <3

  • do airedales usually chase after cats a lot? we're thinking about getting an airedale mix, but we already have a small cat. would it be dangerous for the cat if we brought a new airedale puppy into the house?

  • Comment removed

  • @623Radio Airedale puppies get along great with cats and will grow up to like them but mature Airedales don't really take kindly to cats they don't know. They will chase unfamiliar cats outside the home, though. Good luck!

  • @akiratheimpaler thanks! we may get that puppy soon! :)

  • @TotalSpookyTown

really? well the breeders i saw were like 500. is it going to be companion or hunting?

  • @TotalSpookyTown

Im looking for a breeder. I have been reading and searching the web about them for months. And aways looking at different breeders. A lot of them vary greatly on size. Anywhere from 22 inches at the shoulders all the way to 29 1/2 inches at the shoulders

  • @TotalSpookyTown

i actually do not LOL. But i am getting one very soon and im always looking at breeders and always reading up on them. I have been doing this for months trying to find the right breeder so i believe im pretty knowledgeable for the breed

  • @TotalSpookyTown

they vary greatly. you could get a 45 lb airedale or a 110 lb airedale. Just search up large or extra large airedales and you will surely find a breeder breeding the size you want

  • The stuff about hand striping, and their coats isn't all that true. You can clip their coats, and get the same effect as hand striping. The only time you would hand strip is if you are showing the dog. Then the Airedale Terrier Club of America, (They determine what standards, Airedales get judged on by the AKC.) demands a hand striped coat. Either that, or you want a hand striped coat. But yeah, their coat is not that difficult to take care of. Just have it clipped 3-4 times a year.

  • @Grusnoid I don't know but I work at a dog groomer place and I notice Airedales who gets clipped all the time shreds A LOT. So maybe hand stripping reduce the shredding? I mean i notice all the airedales we get shreds a lot

  • @TINBITZPHAM The lady I got mine from has been a breeder for close to 50 years. She told me that there is really no need for hand stripping, unless you plan to show the dog in competitions. I'm not saying that there is no truth to your statement, I'm just siting my sources.

  • i want one

  • My fam has an airedale. She's pretty huge. At her peak (I'd say around 6) she was over 60 pounds, which is big for females. She's 13 now and is probably 55 pounds. Great dog, but a pain in the ass sometimes. The problem is that they are SMART AS HELL and really try to push the limits of what they can get away with, and they usually will, if you're not paying close attention to them. She will literally eat ANYTHING, too. Crayons, soap, entire cakes....

Still, I love that dog to pieces.

  • soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ssssssüüüüüüüüüüüüüüüüüüüüüüüüüsssss!!!!

  • I love Airedales! My family had one before and his name was Balthazar. Sadley he died for 3 years ago and I miss him alot. :/

If I ever get a dog again it will be a Airedale because they are so lovley and they are always very happy!

  • @Microlle Interesting! I have the same opinion. Airedales just steal hearts. Mine died 5 years ago (after 15 years of happy life) and I still miss him and really don't see any other breed in my future. <3

  • if they are good enough for John Wayne.....

  • I remember when my dad first decided he was going to get an airedale and showed me a picture and I wasn't too excited but when he got one and I spent time with the dog and I fell in love. They have such awesome personalities and are so smart! Probably one of my favorite breeds!

  • @brooklyn560 What age do you live in? Get firefox; problem solved.

  • @happyjellyfish sorry i upgraded from firefox to google chrome long ago =)

  • @brooklyn560 That might have been a downgrade, depending on how much you value customisability. ;)

  • @happyjellyfish when it come to browsers i put speed above all else

  • @happyjellyfish K ! if thats how you feel !

  • @happyjellyfish please let me know what firefox addon do you have :( I have a couple blockers on but I'm still seeing ads

  • @100poundradish If you use both ad-block and no-script, you should be good for 99% percent of everything you see :) You can also always block a source if it keeps bothering you (I hear yahoo! mail is annoying in that sense, but nothing you can't solve).

  • Eu tenho 4 Airedales são os melhores cães do mundo em obediência, carisma, companheirismo, pena que muitas pessoas aqui no Brasil desconhecem esta raça maravilhosa!

  • I have an airedale, and he is so clownish and awesome. He does want to kill my hamster and mice, but he listens well and doesn't give in to his temptation.

  • my airedale was always trying to steal my socks.

  • @Isabel6194 you have got a funny dog =)

  • @estherbunnyful Yeah, he was such a clever dog.. He also loved to steal food and things like my iPod or wallet. I've got a new Airedale since two weeks, he's five months old, and he managed to steal my shoelaces last week. wonderful dogs they are!

  • @Isabel6194 i want one when i'm 18 jears ^^

  • @Isabel6194 My family's Airedale always attempts to EAT our socks.

  • @Isabel6194

i have two and one of them has learnt how to open the cabinet to get shoes or food, whatevers in it.

  • @spark9of9creation clever dogs, aren't they ? my first Airedale died about a year ago and I've got a new Airedale now, he's ten months old and he loves to steal clothes.. we had the laundry hanging outside to dry, and when I looked outside, he was trying to get himself a pair of trousers.. I just couldn't be mad at him because it looked so cute!

  • @Isabel6194 my friends dog shat out a sock! :O

  • @Isabel6194 He would steal them till he was four and completely swallow them lol i love my airedale

  • Great dog for anyone who spends alot of time in the outdoors! They can walk/run all day and track. Their coat is very weatherproof and naturaly curiuous! One of the best gaurd dogs you will find too. Very under rated by most ppl. A great all rounder!

  • Airedale Terrier is soooooooooo prettyyyyyyyyy i loove them!

  • sorry but this dog is ugly, i think...

  • @xxanniexx16 fuck u :)

  • @xxanniexx16 ur ugly i think

  • I love Airedales, I think they are one of the best breeds out there. <3

  • An Ariedale Terrier attacked my little dog when I was taking her for a walk. Are they agressive dogs?

  • @Gracie05452 Generally no. They are are normally very friendly and don't show any aggro. I've got a 14 year old Airedale and he has never attacked or even tried to attack another dog. Little dogs scare him these days lol

  • @Gracie05452 well if they r barking at each other it means they r talking so they can be friends, it takes a while for them to stop barking but if they r biting then idk

  • @Gracie05452 Any dog can be made to be agressive, reguardless of breed. Our 2 girl rotties have no clue what agression is, on the other hand we had a 2 month collie pup go after my mom... she never did it again, and we know she was only testing her limits, but she was the only naturally agressive dog I have ever met, usually "mean dogs" are the result of stupid owners, but there are always exceptions to every rule... like our collie... most of them wouldn't do that...

  • @Gracie05452 That airedale my not have been socialiazed properly. Like all dogs they need to be around other dogs and children from a young age. Also keep in mind that dog may have been taught that. I have an uncle that has labs and they are the the meaniest dogs I have every been around. My airedale is wonderful and is the best friend around my children and they are both under four.

  • Thumbs up if you think Airedales are best!

  • I looove their faces :)

  • i whatch dogs101 on animal all the time my favorite one is the frenchbulldog and

    the english bulldog

  • Looks like a Bedlington, wich my cousin has, he is a good sniffer :P

  • I rescued (adopted, rather) from a rescuer, two Airedale sisters. They were adults when I got them, they are currently 3 and 4 years old now. They both weigh around 45 lbs. each, and I am constantly having people ask me if they are "miniature airedales" or puppies. My understanding is that before the oorang airredales were bred, 45 lbs. was standard for females---help me out, anyone? jeffrich1963@gmail.cocm

  • @jeffreyorich 24" and 60-75lbs are the general size for males a little less for females. I would say your dog is about right. Also there is no such thing as a miniature airedale only a welsh terrier which I do not like.

  • @riverhighway Welsh terriers are cool bro. I have one. :)

  • I had an airedale, he wasn't very well trained and hated strangers but was the most gentle dog with my sister and I. The only reason he was a bit too boisterous was because he had a shattered pelvis as a puppy. He sadly died of a twisted bowel, it was heart breaking.

  • i have an airedale, goodness hes a pain in the neck but i love him to death

  • I tried to stroke one once....and it bit me :(

    I don't like them.

  • @jacobswolfgirl112 well maybe you caught it by surprise... or it just didnt wanna be stroked

    dogs are so lovable<3

  • @XlightninX

I love dogs, don't get me wrong!

But all airdale terriers I know are just scary! I blame the owners though. Not the breed.

But the one that bit me wears a muzzle now lol.

  • i'm trying to find Dogs 101 videos about my 2 dogs, a shetland sheepdog and a rat terrier, but i can't find any. could someone please post a link for these two dog's Dogs 101 videos? thank you if you do.

  • it was hard to chose between sybraun husky or airdale terrier after a little bit thought i decided to get a family/kids pet and thats an airdale an btw husky are great dogs.

  • are they good guard dogs??

  • @supercupcakeee lol no

  • Airedale's are no longer the larget. The Black Russian Terrier is much larger, and bred not for hunting small ground animals, but for watch, and attack dogs, police dogs, and even military dogs.

  • @n1b3luNg Than it's not a terrier. Terriers are used to follow game underground.

  • @zillajratomicray Black... Russian... TERRIER.

    It's a terrier breed.

  • @n1b3luNg Russian Terriers are not an official breed declared by the american kennel club they arent pure breeds so Airedales remain the largest Terrier

  • 0:01

  • i have 2 airedals they are for sure my favorite dog they are ridiculously smart i love my dogs they are really fun to play with and really funny

  • i think airdales look ugly like some alien dog with ugly fur like cheetoh puffs, yellow labrador retrivers are the best ,sorry

  • @1109natural why do you watch this if you think about them this way?

  • @Isabel6194 because i was watching this with my friend who has one i just think there not my favorite dogs

  • Airedales are the best kind of dog, I had one and he made friends with our other pet, a rabbit, he really did.

  • I finally know what kind of dog me and my family are getting (:

  • stangace if you find any in california please let me know

  • I think I know what dog Im gonna get when I Grow up now if my parents dont buy a dog(I cant get one now because my parents dont want a dog for now but we still might get a dog) I'll get an Airedale!
