The true hero of this story, my story, is the human spirit. My husband's spirit, his strength and determination to come back from what we both thought was the end.
@Celticking36 . I pray that you have never heard those words, but if you have, it is undoubtedly something you will have a very difficult time recovering from. Physically, emotionally and spiritually. My interpretation is a bit different than most when it comes to this song. I do not see a person that has given up because they heard the angels calling in the end. I see a person that has finally found the strength to return to life when the angels called.

I found out I had degenitive disk all though my spine and have to be on pain meds now and have been for the last 5 years this song hits home everytime I hear it. I have I have a laundy list of other chronic illnessness like osa and kinbox and was not able to have kids due to polysistic diease , quality of life is not what it used to be . this song really hits home.

@iminlovewithfayth2 No problem, it was my husband's 1st surgery, they removed the melanoma from his nose along with a safe margin of skin around it. Because of the size of the excision they needed to replace skin and cartilage. They did a new (at that time) procedure where they took part of the forehead (blood vessels attached) and attached it to his nose. 10 years later you can barely notice it, they did a wonderful job!

@afhevh When a doctor tells you that you only have a few months to live, it's pretty hard to come back from that into a normal life. Then you pile on the fact that he was only 26, had two small children, just graduated with his BA...only to look forward to whole brain radiation and SRS...followed by seizures, losing his job, severe headaches, depression...and plenty more. He lost himself in what took the pain and heartache away. But...he came back from it...heard the angels calling...
my favorite part is when it says: "I'm only human can't you see the beauty in me... take a good look at me now.... can't you see I've changed?" anyone agree??
@MyBCDSJ That's my favorite part as well. To me, it signifies that turning point in coming back from something so difficult. So many people have misunderstood the meaning of this song and asked how I could refer to my husband as a 'monster'. Life changes people, only the strongest of us can overcome something like this; and you never know what you're capable of until you are in that position yourself.
