Thanks for sharing,,,, I suffered a massive bleed stroke in april 2011. I lost all muscle control on my right side.. I spent 7 weeks in ICU and acute rehab. I did a month of inpatient therapy and 3 months out outpatient therapy. I regained most of the use of my hand arm and leg, and am still working to improve my walking and endurance/flexibility. I wrote a blog .. youtube blocks the links but its shottothedome dinstudio com.
Wes has been recovering for over 2 years and continues to make gains. His most drastic improvement was within the first year but his brain continues to improve today. Year Two provided significant improvement as well.
The reality is that recovery is a lifelong process. The brain continually heals itself. I am a TBI survivor of almost 32 years, and every now and then I find some improved functionality all this time after my TBI.
Thank you for posting your story. My husbands suffered a brain stem stroke he is 28 years old. Your video is such an inspiration to me. My husbands has so much improvement in a month and a half. From being on a ventilator my husband is now breathing on his own with only a treach tube in place. Thank to god he is still with us. I told your story to my husband.
Hi yes we are still here. Sorry for the late reply my husband is now home still doing physical therapy he is now able to walk using a walking and he is still working on his speech. How is your husband doing? My husband suffered his stroke on December 22. God bless and lots of patience to you. I know clearly understand what it takes to care for a sick person specially someone who you love so much.
