Why are you searching for dog seizures if you're just going to bitch about every single one you watch? This is the fourth one I've seen you insult. These videos could HELP dog owners know how to deal with their dog having seizures.
its actually very informative, my dog had a seizure like this today as he has had a few times. The vet has told me to film my dog next time if I can to show him how he reacts. If someone is unaware whats happened to thier dog after a seizure and the dog seems fine - you might wanna look it up to see if it was - like I have with this video. There is nothing sick about it.
@maddyrock1998 we need to put these videos. Not because we enjoy seeing animals pain. We learn from watching. Animal owners have experienced this. You can do anything about it. We ask questions by uploading the video, hoping someone would give an answer what to do. Just.. stop.
This is to dw3mh and all of the other people giving me a hard time. I posted these comments a while ago. I realize I was wrong. I am sorry for caring about the dog. Please back off. I will delete all the comments I posted. Seriously. Just...Stop.
Hi everyone Harvey is doing well and has been seizure free for over a year now, the reason I filmed this is my vet asked me to and it could help others :-)
@varicool1 I used to have seizures that used to last 20 minutes it was scary but after 5 years of seizures (started from age 7-12) I became seizure free and I'm glad and I wish your dog the best not to have another one :)
That poor little dog!!! i wonder if its o.k now i hope it is...my dog Max has never had one!! and he is 3 years old and almost four in November hopefully he never has one......o.m.g i spoke to to soon he having one right now but how??!
My dog has the same kind of seizure like this roughly once a year maybe less. I feel bad for dogs that have to go through this kind of thing but I love my dog just the same. All I can ever do is sit with her and pet her til its over. Hers usually last 5 mins. Doctors said she has idiopathic epilepsy which means they can't find anything wrong or a trigger that makes her have her seizures.
Ah is your pup ok?? Did you seek medical care for Harvey?
My Molly had an episode last night (her first) I wasn't sure if it was in fact a seizure until I saw your video. I've read up on canine seizures and was surprised to find that they're quite common in dogs.
Some people post videos of seizures for education purposes and for answers of other pet owners with epileptic dogs.
When a dog is having a seizure, they are blacked out, as a result, they cant see anything. It's not dying.
There is literally nothing you can do except stop it from hurting itself. Most you can do to avoid it is to put something in the mouth to keep the mouth open such as a rolled up towel. Also turning out the lights. Maybe a blanket over them. Thats really all you can do.
Rush it to the hospital? hmmm well lets see. The dog is in the middle of a seizure which is in snapping at thin air (my dog has bit me in the middle of a seizure) and many other things. And its not good to pick up a dog in the middle of a seizure. I'm sure this person broght it to the hospital. I might of sounded like an ass hole to you... but you were just being ignorant
Can you understand this helps a lot of people? What if someone's dog is having a seizure out of nowhere and they can't tell if its real or not? It would be nice to be able to look it up to see what it really looks like.
I Know How It Fels, My Jack Russel Has Them. Its Pretty Scary When He Scrunches Up, Shakes And Falls Over. I Always Pick Him Up Though To Calm Him Down.
I thought my dog was having a seizure and now I know he is. Thank you for sharing this video. As unpleasant as it is to see a dog like this, it is helpful to see what a seizure looks like. Now I know what I am dealing with.
But if you record your dog's seizure just for medical reasons, why to load it on Youtube? Because you want to help others with the same problem? I don't know but it seems really sadic to me.
Well think for a sec, you can't really do anything to the dog when it's having a seizure, as you might get bitten and stress the animal more than it's stressed already. The reasons for putting this on YT is simple, to share experiences, and see who has more info about medications, recommended vets, types of seizures etc. But if you wanna look purely on the negative side, be my guest. Two sides to every coin my friend, two sides.
The reason Belle was euthanized is the 11 seizures destroyed her brain; she was like Mary Schivo. She was blind, did not respond to voice, could not swallow meds or water via syringe, she had no quality of life.
You haven't seen a seizure til you've seen our Belle (lab/terrier mix). Her jaw would lock, her teeth clench, thick muscousy saliva poured out of her mouth, she shook violently, she would get up and run aimlessly and urinate incontrollably. She was euthanized after having 11 such seizures in 27 hours; she was 15 months old.
did he have seziures before? I read somewhere that almost 90 percent of these are caused by poison building up in the body over time. coud be wrong though.
Backfirefur and llyblm you two are sick, bitch fucking asshole licking shit cocks, you can't controll a seizure! Bakfirefur you are truly mental I mean seriously? stomp a whole in your head?? man you must want other people to look like you really bad to put it in a dog seizure video! Sorry are you LISTENING to yourself? You used my "Sorry couldnt resist" to argue MY maturity level and ACTUALLY THOUGHT it was clever? Sorry, you're immature. Go back to school and gtfo youtube.

You honestly ACTUALLY THOUGHT. because you , told me. To go back to school. That makes YOU absolutely a more intelligent being than I am?
Do you feel big now, "Amanda"? Do you feel smart now? Because I am honestly sick of you type of people, Judging other people that say pwned and somehow link that to immaturity, stupidity and ignorance. So no, I'm gonna sit here. right now and tell you. That you, "amanda" ...are a complete utter prejudice bitch. The end...
Also please remember that Vets have sevarl clients who harrass them night and day when their animal farts or coughs(yes I have heard both and it is really annoying at 3 AM). Please respect your vet and call when it is an actual emergency like this.
I think I understand your horror. But the people who post footage like this are in my opinion very courageous. My dog died of his seizures and I still believe to this day that many in the veterinary profession don't know how awful these experiences are. So in terms of developing our understanding of how dreadful this disease is for animals I welcome these films
WOW. You cleary know nothing about real Vets. My father is a vet and he has had several seizure patients. Most vets also have pets. They get the problem the fear of loosing an animal. I watched my father choke back tears after someone ran down our retriever. The thing about being a vet(or being related to one and seeing this stuff) is that you become detached. A good vet is detached because it allows them to focus more on the problem at hand and cure it.
They have to have good "bedside" manner with the clients, because after all the animal is seeing just another human. They dont know it is a vet. All the vet has to do is respect the animal(which sometimes means a muzzle and a shot of anesthesia), and cure it. If a doctor is trying to fix an animal, they have to think and if their emotions are in the way it gets hard. That is why my dad doesnt like opperating on his animals unless it is a simple spay or neuter.
I think you may have read too much into my observation. Which is based on my experience of several vets. Thanks for the lecture but it really was not necessary. I have a great admiration for many vets.
So I guess what I am saying is that Vets know exactly how awful these things can be. They know exactly what it is. I actually have epilepsy(which causes seizures, even though I dont have them I have myclonic twiches[a small scale seizure I guess]) and my father had basically diagnosed me before my 1st doctor's visit. My dad knew the causes and completly understood the disorder. So yes, Vets know exactly how awful the disorder is.
(sorry for 3 comments, not enough space!) Also, routine blood work done by your vet can help rule out problems causing seizures such as hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), or organ failure. If nothing else, the vet will probably prescribe a medication for your dog.
Best thing for your dog during a seizure is to rub their tummy or back and talk calmly to them until they get out of it. Don't get excited or upset, that stresses the dog out even more. They likely don't know they're having a seizure just like many elipetics aren't sure when they are either.
My papillon had a really bad seizure this morning; woke me right up. She was foaming at the mouth, pupils were extremely dilated, legs stiff as boards, groaning and convulsing. There is nothing you can do when they are seizing. The best thing for you (and the dog) is to rub their tummy, stroke their back and talk to them in a calm, reassuring voice. Try not to put your fingers next to their mouth because they might bite you unintentionally whilst seizing.
There is nothing you can do. Although it seems cruel, this is helping others determine if their animal had a seizure or not. Crying doesnt help the animal nor does this mean he is being a jerk.
My black lab just suffered a very mild one, and it is scary. I'm searching here visual needs and on websites for informational needs. It can be caused by many things, and there is nothing you can do... just calm the animal when it stops.
Aren't those little christians funny? I got a cold last month, is it to punish my parents? So, i can kill you for being such a drag, repent my sin and still go to ''heaven''? I wish i could be as naive as you are, must be fun. tip: Open a real book, genius.
I know it's terrible to look at but its important that ppl know what these seizures look like incase they have an animal suffering from the same symptoms. Videos like this are often used in the veterinary school that I attend to show students what a seizure presents like :)
Can you please help me stop my seizures by writing letters on my behalf to Senator Dianne Feinstein of California to intervene on my behalf in expediting my Medical application, therefore, I could have my brain surgery to stop my seizures and live as normal life as I always had before being struck with endless Grand Mal seizures.
aww poor pooc. unfortunately you can only monitor a seizure and make sure that the person's airway is not blocked and keep them as comfortable as possible. there really is not much you can do for people or a dog. if they are in too long call 911.
Thank you for sharing your video. Our little dog, China, had two episodes exactly like this and we had no clue what they were ... we started reading about epilepsy but our dogs symptoms did not seem the same (teeth nashing, limbs flailing, incontenance, etc.) Harvey's episode was the same as China's. I hope to show our Vet this video so he can best help China with her treatment. I hope Harvey is doing okay. Blessings to you.
charmedphoebe13,varicool1 is not mean, but just sending this tape out so that other people and dogowners can learn about epilepsia among dogs,so that they will know that if their dog has this desease, they are not alone.
i know how that is one time at school we were in class when all of a sudden one of the students fell down and had a seizure me and two other people went to go get help and the ladies in the office were as bad as police people asking questions
i was like Wow HES having a seizure
and i just ran to the library to get my mom casue she was helping out and she was a doctor
Folks, I thought I was alone but thanks for your confirmation that our medications may be causing us to have HEART ARRHYTHMIA. I'm still getting VERY suspicious of my medications. Are they helping or hurting? Like you see on MySeizures videos, I'm wondering WHY I'm beating my chest so hard before I'm totally knocked out with seizures? It seems, I'm having CARDIAC ARRHYTHMIA- A DISTURBANCE IN THE HEART'S ELECTRICAL CONDITION. SEIZURES ON SEIZURES, is my medication causing my CARDIAC ARRHYTHMIA?
I think my dog does this too I'm not really sure. I pretty sure she sleeps and hjas a bad dream or something but she breathers heavy and her back leg twitches would that be a seizure?
Go kill yourself now. Crying does NOT make you homosexual in any way. It's a fundamental part of humanity. If you're dickheaded enough to believe some homophobic bullshit like that, you deserve to die. Shit like you doesn't help society advance, only implode on itself.
Thank you for posting this, my dog got a seizure this morning, and it looked almost identical. So my dog is probably not dying (thank god for that). He is now on a 24 hour surveillance at the vet for bloodtests.
re making a movie of it as you put it my vet asked me to so he could see what was going on and if it helps other people on here with a diagnosis its worth it.....
He is now under medication and is seizure free since that one,my vet asked me to video it for him so it could give him an idea of what we were dealing with....
I hope for both your sake and Harvey's sake that the meds will work for you. Keep a record of when he has a seizure. My dog has seizures in patterns - and I didn't know that that wasn't odd until I found the Canine Epilepsy Network. I can't find the url but you can find it on google.
I hope you have your dog under proper veterinary care, with the appropriate medication. Whilst it was interesting to watch - as I have a dog with epilepsy - so the similarities in seizures are always interesting, you need to ensure you have the proper medication, as well as the support for the dog when having the seizure. All research shows that when dogs are comforted by their owners during and after a seizure, they recover much better from this traumatic event.

nima99 4 years ago 3
there is little you can do during a seizure, so why not film it so people know what a seizure is like.

Aren't those little christians funny? I got a cold last month, is it to punish my parents? So, i can kill you for being such a drag, repent my sin and still go to ''heaven''? I wish i could be as naive as you are, must be fun. tip: Open a real book, genius.

fuck me i cna t watch after 22secs man i feel so sorry for that dog dosent deserve it actually no one does!! but why film it??
KENCOZ10 4 years ago
I know it's terrible to look at but its important that ppl know what these seizures look like incase they have an animal suffering from the same symptoms. Videos like this are often used in the veterinary school that I attend to show students what a seizure presents like :)

Can you please help me stop my seizures by writing letters on my behalf to Senator Dianne Feinstein of California to intervene on my behalf in expediting my Medical application, therefore, I could have my brain surgery to stop my seizures and live as normal life as I always had before being struck with endless Grand Mal seizures.
Please Write to:
Senator Dianne Feinstein
One Post Street, Suite 2450,
San Fransisco, Ca. 94104
Thank you for your considerate and caring help.

aww poor pooc. unfortunately you can only monitor a seizure and make sure that the person's airway is not blocked and keep them as comfortable as possible. there really is not much you can do for people or a dog. if they are in too long call 911.

The best thing you can do is keep them safe and comfort them afterwards.

He is now under medication and is seizure free since that one,my vet asked me to video it for him so it could give him an idea of what we were dealing with....
varicool 5 years ago
I hope for both your sake and Harvey's sake that the meds will work for you. Keep a record of when he has a seizure. My dog has seizures in patterns - and I didn't know that that wasn't odd until I found the Canine Epilepsy Network. I can't find the url but you can find it on google.
jeddahstar 5 years ago
I hope you have your dog under proper veterinary care, with the appropriate medication. Whilst it was interesting to watch - as I have a dog with epilepsy - so the similarities in seizures are always interesting, you need to ensure you have the proper medication, as well as the support for the dog when having the seizure. All research shows that when dogs are comforted by their owners during and after a seizure, they recover much better from this traumatic event.
