That pile of lost things DOES EXIST!!! IT MUST!!! When I was a kid I had a little plastic car - and it came with some plastic thingy you attached the car to, and then it shot the car forwards. When I was about five or six, I lost the car. It went into a 2cm gap under the bed. I wasn't strong enough to move the bed. Besides, it was a bigass bed so I wouldn't be able to do it anyways. NOW THE STRANGE PART: when the room was renovated, the whole furniture got thrown away. THE CAR WASN'T THERE!!!

This is my favorite era of Carlins career. He got a bit too bitter for my taste as time went on. At this younger age, he could dish out criticism when needed, but he could also talk about more trivial stuff like in this clip. At the end of his career he was just soapboxing all the time.

@raizumichin I disagree. I get more laughs out of this era of his career, but I think his later career was equally important in solidifying him as one of the best comics to ever live and a genius. I think by that point, he saw an increasingly dumb society and felt a duty to criticize. I, for one, am grateful that he did this and think it paved the way to talk about these things openly (especially atheism).

@murdockqotsa I would never in a million years call his later material bad, things like The Modern Man is still comedy gold. I agree that it is the duty of the comedian to criticize, and in that regard Carlin is a very important comedian. However, at times, I think the actual comedy took a backseat to social commentary and criticism, and by that point you kinda loose the point of being a critic.
