Great idea. For years we shut off the water on our vacation house when we left. Ironically, I went there to do some maintenance. Back home a Watts braided stainless steel flex water heater burst and flooded the downstairs carpet in my house. I just added a manual cable operated shutoff valve with the handle in the laundry room. Works great. I may add the same electric valve later. But rest assured, I will shut the water off any time I leave on a trip. Nice installation.

"Prevent flooding from main water shut off" from the way it looks in your video you installed it after the main valve, and the 4- 90's you used in the joist space thats just asking for pin hole leaks. Should have put it down by that hose bib with the vacuum breaker on it to eliminate the 4 90's but that's just my opinion. I do like the copper to copper union. Not bad for a homeowner. Remember 4 - 45's = 2 - 90's lot less turbulence than 4 -90's
