  • Learn the major scale then you know all modes! dorian phrygian lydian myxolydian, aeoline/minore, locrian. But LEARN ALL the shapes of major and try to impro. on.

  • wow, i havent even played a year, and i sorta got modes down.....

But yeah, its an ass trying to understand them....

oh and writing songs, what a bitch.....

  • ur not

  • thats awesome stuff dude keep t up

  • the modes got their names around 600 AC. They where used in churchmusic, or Gregorian song to be more exact. Named by Gregor the great ;)

  • That's right, but he also had different names for the modes then we do. Pope gregory is never talked about, even though we owe him bigtime for opening up the music world. Nice to know you're educated. We should also learn about guildo d'arezzo the gudionian monk who invented the guidionian hand, which he also invented solfage.

  • Sure not.

  • that's awesome.... may i have ur tab please? nice video and sound quality.... amazing tone

  • not bad

  • AMAZING TONE, is that a rg550 i see :O

  • i use pod xt live ,.

  • that was good, what are you using to record? You're plugging into the computer right?
