This is a good advert NOT to buy bagpipes made in Pakistan. I have come across so many who have bought these poor quality imported pipes, and then want lessons. NO, NO NO !! Beware the red/brown wood!
Don't buy pipes from an ordinary music store, or off eBay - find a bagpipe teacher; if you're in the UK contact the National Piping Centre, the College of Piping, the Scottish Piping Society of London, contact a pipe band, go to McCallum Bagpipes, Shepherd Bagpipes etc.
