LOL in england it was £1.42 a litre 6 week ago! it's around £1.35 now that equates to $10.80 a gallon!! you don't know how lucky you are, it cost me $160(£100) to fill my van.....
what are you doing in brentwood cuz that doesn't effect those people, try east covina or pamona region and see the effect. this high price is partly due to the speculator who buys the gas and guess the future price to make a few buck off of it. THIS PRICE IS NOT BASE ON SUPPLY AND DEMAND. the second reason is the weak dollar. the third is increase in demand in china/india but they need it too so i don't blame them. someone gotta get rid of the gas speculators cuz that's a major gas price killer
You sound like my spouse, $4.39 9/10 is $4.40!! unless you can somehow get back that 1/10 of a cent. Even using standard mathimatical rounding, .5 and up is 1.0, I know I'm nit-picking but it's annoying. :)
wait until we pay $10 per gallon like western Europe...One way I prepared for peak oil was converting my home to a net-zero solar powered home that uses no oil or gas..I made a video about it called, "Preparing for Peak Oil"....
the american people need to just accept that your going to use the gas that you use and do what everyone else is doing and that would be working on a pay increase to cover all your expenses this is no time to lay down and cry
My personal hourly rate or the average wage for people living in England? Well, my own wage is my own business but i drive a second hand car and wont be going away on holiday this year.
The average wage is difficult to define because it varies so much between work sectors and employee ages. Broadly speaking its about £25,000 ($50,000) which comes out at £12 an hour. As far as im aware thats about 20% higher than the "average" wage in the States. Though again, its difficult to define.
Thank you.. I just meant in general.. The minimum hourly wage in Pennsylvania US is 7.15an hour.. I have driven a second hand car since I began driving at 17 years old, now 37.. It is way too expensive to travel anywhere for sure

I live in England, just outside of the second biggest city, Birmingham.
As of today (11 June) Unleaded Petrol is £117.9 a litre at the station nearest my house.
1 American Gallon is 3.785 litres.
1 American Gallon is 446.25 pence
At current exchange rates petrol is $8.73 a US gallon.
The Diesel is £130.3 a litre. 493.18 pence or $9.64 a US gallon.
But we all walk to work if we dont live in America right?

We do not operate on metric liters and not everyone is in "biking range" of the next mass commuter train or hostel.
