they are not playing, the position of the tail tells me that they are a bit worried, they are actually fighting more than playing, see them tuck their tails in

PLEASE thats not fighting, that is playing, Two of my stallions got in together the other week ( due to a cow breaking the fence :() and the results where horrible, one is missing a large chunk of flesh from his neck the others lip was hanging off the jaw (this has all been fixed by a vet also it was not cruelty it was an accident due to a cow knocking over a fence post while scratching on a very old fence all horses are well and fences fixed)
;D, tis natures way of setting the pecking order...For people who think this is a buse, its just plain not xD....Its more like playing, and cute too. xD

they're playing halter tag for anyone who thinks this is "abuse" they're bored, so they start playing. at my old barn, there was a warmblood and a thoroughbred that would do this for hours. they love it, and it occupies their time. it's like two boys wrestling. it's just in good fun.

Hello to all who have commented on my video. It is funny to me how many people are so quick to give an "awe, they are just playing" response and seem pretty sure about it to the point of arguing with each other. So, I will set things straight. The gray dapple is Smokey. At the time of this video, he was new to the farm and shared one side of the pen with my mare. The brown mini is Flip-flop and he was on the other side, separated by hot wire.
Smokey (a gelding) being from another farm where he was the dominant male thought he was still going to be the dominant one and they would fight through the fence, breaking it on occasion. Due to dead batteries in our camera, we were only able to tape a small portion of the fight that went on for a couple of hours. I said it was for dominance, not that they were out for blood like a dog fight to the death.
Since then they do get together and "play fight". I do know the difference and really don't care what "your horses do all the time" or how I "misrepresented the context of the video by having fight in the title". Please keep on visiting and leaving comments.
PS - I have taken their halters off, but that seems to be when they escape. And let me tell ya, trying to catch these minis without a halter a whole other video (LOL)! Thanks for your concern....
haha i am going to repeat what everyone else said.. that they are just playing and that they are cute. but they shouldn't be turned out with their halters on.. thats dangerous
it may be dangerous but only if the halters are not on properly.. and besides its also a safety measure in case an emergency happens and they need to be able to grab the horses quickly

It is funny to me how many people are so quick to give an "awe, they are just playing" response and seem pretty sure about it to the point of arguing with each other. So, I will set things straight. The gray dapple is Smokey. At the time of this video, he was new to the farm and shared one side of the pen with my mare. The brown mini is Flip-flop and he was on the other side, separated by hot wire.

Smokey (a gelding) being from another farm where he was the dominant male thought he was still going to be the dominant one and they would fight through the fence, breaking it on occasion. Due to dead batteries in our camera, we were only able to tape a small portion of the fight that went on for a couple of hours. I said it was for dominance, not that they were out for blood like a dog fight to the death.

Since then they do get together and "play fight". I do know the difference and really don't care what "your horses do all the time" or how I "misrepresented the context of the video by having fight in the title". Please keep on visiting and leaving comments.

PS - I have taken their halters off, but that seems to be when they escape. And let me tell ya, trying to catch these minis without a halter a whole other video (LOL)! Thanks for your concern....

They're playing!! My horse does that all the time with his best buddy. You really need to take the head collars off though.

In England, a halter is made of rope, a headcollar is what those ponies are wearing.

it may be dangerous but only if the halters are not on properly.. and besides its also a safety measure in case an emergency happens and they need to be able to grab the horses quickly
