@cyclist911 If you wanna hear an even Far more obvious rip-off by The Cult, ck out that dirty rock star tune, THAT is 100% The Rolling Stones' Undercover of The NIGHT.
Don't kno if any of you know this...Ian did a short stint with "the Doors" or I should say he was doing lead vocals with the "21st Century Doors" A few years ago with Robbie Kreiger, and Ray Manzierk, but the drummer took them to court and tried to sue them....He did a AWESOME job tho channeling the essence of Jim Morrison...it was a good show...he even dressed like Jim !!!
'I love you every hour, crazy 'bout you yeah, crazy bout you yeah', one of the best and most underrated bands in the rock history, they deserved to reign, what a riff what an anthem
I think the title of this album "Electric" is a secret tribute to AC/DC. There are other songs on this album are very similar to AC/DC's riffs and style.
Yea, so they ripped of AC/DC's riff. So what? They did something new with it and it sounds great. AC/DC ripped off a couple of The Stones riff's here and there (Who Made Who is taken straight from Honky Tonk Women - which they covered earlier in their career).
@adriantino Wow my math was way off. Its more like Actually 153,500 12 year olds listening to Bieber 12 times a day. (For a year). Which sounds about right.
A long time Cult fan. I took a good friend to see Aerosmith Just Push Play tour in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Theatre. I flew from Texas and he drove from California - we met in Las Vegas. Toys in the Attic Tour was my first concert. Anyway, Just Push Play was a good show, so when they came through Dallas a few months later - I picked up a ticked for myself to catch Aerosmith again and guess who opened the show? Yep, The Cult. They sounded great - played em all!!! The Cult Rocks!!!!
I don't care about the lyric or can't hear exactly what he sing. I just love what I hear, the music, the band and the voice that make it very sensitive to my emotion enough for me to think of someone with me everywhere I walked in town. That's how great this song is. :-)
@VAROCKER1 They both rock, but Love is definitely their best album. Sonic Temple is good, but they we're trying to sound really commercial during that time. When Love came out, they weren’t that big and didn't know how successful the album would be, so it's much more natural and raw sounding, more original too. Love is one of my all time faves!
I know I'm not the first one to notice this...but this riff is directly lifted from Rock and Roll Singer from High Voltage by ACDC. This drummer is definitely Phil Rudd's understudy....and so much better than Matt Sorum...this album swung...it's funny but Sorum degraded both the Cult and GNR after he joined....
BTW, you might try checking out a rare version of WILDFLOWER here on YouTube, on the internet radio show Fizz Radio Boogaloo. The episode is titled "Fizz Radio Boogaloo: Your Worst Horrors", and I believe the live track in taken from the little-known-and remembered Canadian TV show "It's Only Rock 'n Roll" from the late 80s.
Just type in the Youtube search box "Fizz Radio Boogaloo: Your Worst Horrors"
I assumed you had meant with the Doors while Jim was still around. I found the re-union videos. He does make a good Jim, but it's not quite the same. I love both the Doors and the Cult, but I still prefer the original Doors. Kinda like Shane West as Darby, it's a good imitation but it's not the same Germs.
Amazing performers. Astbury has performed with original members of the Doors and done some Official cover songs with the original members. Enjoy what you have access to.

@BradG1992 The reason AC/DC is being mentioned is because the Cult gave their producer and sound engineer a copy of Back In Black and said "Make sure the guitars sound exactly like that!".If you listen to their earlier stuff it is much more like the Cure, sound wise. And kid,I'm a guitarist for nearly 30 years so please don't tell me.I don't know what I'm talking about.
