  • Great video. Vega is so underrated. Brilliant voice.

  • word!

  • Really not sure about the video... love the song, like all of her work. Lyrically precise, not a wasted sound. Vega's always been one of the most amazing musicians.

And the one time I saw her live, some drunk chick kept yapping right behind me. When Vega went to play "In Liverpool" the woman shouted out "I'M FROM THERE" and Vega finally said "Oh, great. Shut up, please."

It was glorious. Too bad the woman didn't shut up.

  • she has a knack for saying things from the stage ...love how she doesnt care!!!

  • my aunt gave me the album this song appeared on for xmas of 1991. coming off the heels of her massively popular hit "Tom's Diner (DNA feat. Suzanne Vega)" alot of my friends and I were interested in what she'd do next. This CD was slept on by alot of mainstream folks...but THIS song here and "rusted piper" were great tunes.

  • the good days of music, are in the past

  • great video

    thanks!

  • number ever page in silver, underlined in magic marker - Lee Will Be Sad. Great lyrics that suzzie gave us!!!

  • davethephoneguy is a huge lipped big heaeded frak that works at at&t columbus ohio who needs alot of love from a good looking gal that has patience and love to give! honestly, he is the sweetist person i've ever met. a very good guy w/ a heart of pure ugh huh? no; gold!

  • Suzanne, You're lovely.

I saw You live in Cologne. You're great.

  • I love you Suzanne!

  • Interesting concept. She has a lovely voice.

  • in my book it s delicious.

  • why didn't anyone buy this? it's one of my favourite Suzanne Vega songs.

  • I bought it. Sometimes it takes hindsight to recognize genius.

  • I bought it.

  • I didn't mean it badly. I read in an interview that she thought not many really liked it...not many bought it.

  • I loved the 80's and suzanne vega

  • Beautiful song. Thanks for vid.

  • who care you morangs shes hot i love to do her

  • suzanne vega is the most infloance that still alife alegened in her livinig she also magor babe i wish i could grab and kiss her

  • a happy song by a wonderful person

  • great video. the effects with all the props are amazing.

  • I don't get the "Kriegsmarine" thing on her cap. Why German? I am a German, I'd like to know why Suzanne Vega didn't use the English word.

  • It was left over from Paula Abdul's "Cold Hearted Snake" video, shot on the same stage :-P

  • I think her mum is German.

  • But only half German I guess. Somehow it's strange she used this cap in the video. The letters are written in the Old-German way of writing, and honestly this is pretty much Nazi-like. Somebody should tell her that.

  • Who cares? Nazi shmazi. Those days are long over.

  • It's a fucking hat...

  • Actually that cap predates Nazi-Germany quite a bit and is rather from the time of WW 1 and before. When Emperor Wilheml II. started to build up a large German naval fleet there was also a large popular movement. If you were a boy from the upper middle or upper class for sure you a "Matrosenanzug" with this kind of cap at that time as a sunday dress.

  • Another highly intelligent Suzzy Vega fan! Thanks for the insight.

  • She has German decent 1/4 but in the end of the day she is an american girl.

  • ya...more exactly..a New Yorker.

  • gosto de mais de suzanne vega

  • Never!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What never?

  • I listened to her during the Gulf war ...in 1990 & 1991 ...She was soothing ...

  • Yeah, I remember one of your former postings. You wrote you enjoyed "Solitude Standing" on your walk-man while relaxing from all the trouble.

Just an advice: Go on MySpace and tell her that, I'm very sure she'll add you.

  • A wonderful woman. Perhaps the most wonderful woman in the world.

  • "Libro de sueños". Ojala se cumplan todos nuestros sueños y deseos positivos en el año que nuevo que está tan cercano. Feliz 2008 a todos. Un abrazo desde España

Happy new year 2008 for all.

  • love Miss Vega! one question... why has she never tried acting outside her vids? seen the vids, seen many concerts, talked to her in person, she inspired much of my abstract art... she would be wonderful in an indy film. she has such presence!!!

  • Considering the age of this video I am not wrong in saying it was innovative.I love this song as I love Suzanne Just saw her live in Milan on the 29th of October but she didn't play it. :-(

  • I was so in love with her image and music by then... jeeeeez! I'm getting old! that was 17 years ago!

Great song, thanks for posting it.

  • Have you noticed Suzanne has a hat with "Kriegsmarine" on it? It's German war fleet. heh. I love the song and suzanne is one og my favourite artists!!!

  • This just isn't doing it for me. I have always really liked Solitude Standing. Not a bad song on it.

  • her new album "beauty and crime" is woderful! i like him very much!

  • her new album "beauty and grime" (2007) is wonderful! i like it very very much! i love suzanne vega!

  • I love Suzanne Vega. I can't over her how talented she is. I fell in love with her music the first time I heard "Left of Center". In a way, I'm glad she never made it mainstream because that would mean she would have to sacrifice her art.

  • You know, I love this song. Absolutely love it. But this video is freaking gay.

  • Speaking of Synchronicities, I had a premonition that Phoenix Arizona will be the place of the next major terrorist attack, and on my birthday, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" will be released.

    Thomas James Haller

  • I've always been interested in Astrology and have notices some synchronicities in the life of Suzanne Vega and mine. We were born on the same day nine miles apart. This song was playing in my mind a few nights ago in my dreams. I thought it was something from a Disney television show in my dreams, until I found it on a Suzanne Vega recording.

  • Days of open hand is one of my all time favourite albums. Fantastic to chill out to...
