I believe the XP2's display (the new one) is better protected, at least it seemed like it, the 3 days I had one.

my xp3 only lasted 6 weeks and then the keypad locked up..took it back to the store for my "3 year no-questions unconditional guarantee" and so far im stuck 4 weeks later with no phone and no further getting a replacement...dont beleive the marketing hype..Im truly disappointed
